  1. I had been eyeing Ray's stats for the last month or so, and when I saw that they were going to be home against the Lakers with one more 3-pointer to tie the record, I knew I had to go see them. My plan was to get a ticket from a scalper, but I ended up snagging a pair from a guy off craigslist for face value. $256 for a pair of the worst seats in the house, at face value, crazy. Not only that, I brought an incredibly hot blonde date who actually paid for her own ticket. Amazing.
  2. So I was curious what the Sox's interleague schedule looks like this year. It looks like a much much more fair schedule than last year. I see them taking atleast 2 out of 3 of all of those except Philladelphia, depending on if they get lucky and see Blanton. 3 home v cubs 3 home v Brewers 3 home v san diego 3 at Pittsburgh 3 at Philly 3 at Houston
  3. Its sort of pathetic that when I put "boston red sox tickets" into google, redsox.com is the third most popular site that comes up.
  4. Got to love waking up a beautiful Saturday in Boston to read stories about Red Sox Spring Training. Some excerpts I've read from this morning: Okajima reportedly injured last year, blames performance on that. Lester focusing on a better April this year Aceves looking impressive Dice-k much much healthier than the last two seasons. Four years in Boston, still needs an interpreter. Drew's hamstring better, but still nursing it. He's still undecided about retirement.
  5. Scutaro is reportedly fully healthy. More good signs. Fun fact: The Red Sox used 44 different combinations in the outfield in 2010.
  6. As well they should. I went to the Celtics/Laker game a week ago, and caught Ray Allen break the 3 point record. A-friggen-mazing.
  7. I don't see how it will. It makes sense. It seems like a lot of teams this year have been buying out their players' arbitration years, and not getting anything, which makes no business sense whatsoever. Plus, Lester's deal was at the same point in the arbitration process too, so if Buchholz is willing to do a similar deal, that would include the extra FA year + the option.
  8. You are on ignore. Unfortunately, that function is incredibly worthless.
  9. On second thought, I probably won't have the time for this. Summer is always kind of busy, and I'll probably spend my baseball-time at Fenway this year.
  10. Why is it that when Beltre and Iglesias's offensive flaws come up, it is acceptable to hide behind their defense, but when we're talking about Crawford, his top notch defense means so much less?
  11. Both are problems. There are lots of problems. I want a Ferrari, but sometimes you need to settle for a Lexus.
  12. I just don't see Pujols as a good fit for the Sox. He'll push them way over the luxury cap. He'll be signed to age 41 and they'll be in a massive bidding war. They already have 2 GG 1B already(and an expensive LF) and both of them are arguably in the top 10-20 hitters in baseball. If they try to move them around positionally, it could cause chemisty issues. If they try to trade away one of them, and fail, that could get ugly. Weighing risks versus rewards, I don't think losing Youkilis is worth picking up a 300 million dollar contract. As good as Pujols is, it just doesn't make sense.
  13. I'll put in a vote pro-wins. Taking it out changes drafting strategy immensely from normal drafts.
  14. I'm in, if my team name can be Your Long Lost Pals
  15. I'm usually skeptical of players that have been in the league for some time and have a random breakout year.
  16. Drinking while behind the wheel of a car, with an officer watching... A-gon looks better and better to me every day.
  17. Fun fact: A-gon is 2.5 years younger than Pujols, and his contract is going to be about 3 years shorter. 5.5 year differences in their ages at the end of their contracts.
  18. Sabathia is going to Philadelphia. You heard it here first.
  19. A 5/30 contract for a guy who has shown ace potential. Its a no brainer.
  20. If you compare his results to Beckett's/Lackey's, and his costs to Beckett's/Lackeys... even if he doubles his ERA, he's still a bargain. This is a no-brainer FO, get it done.

    Pujols

I also think the Yankees are much more likely to go for Fielder. Half the cost, and almost the same value. Edit: I mean, if they're both DHs... they're both two elite sluggers. Pujols is obviously in his own league.

    Pujols

Based on the way the Sox do business, they're not going to spend 70 million dollars a year for 3 gold glove 1B.
