    I'm also surprised that the Red Sox didn't even seem to be in on any of the relief pitching. Considering how many innings the bullpen has, I figured they'd do a little bit more to relieve Bard/Papelbon, but that just means they are confidant in who they have... which they very well should be.

    I definitely wasn't a fan of Bedard through the week when we were discussing this, but looking at the deal, it is clear that Theo did some real dealing on this one. Federowicz probably didn't project very good offensively, but I'd always hoped he would have emerged as a "good-enough" bat to push his glove to the majors. The others seemed like filler to me. I'm okay with sending a few low ceiling prospects for a rental that has the stuff to pitch to a 3.00 ERA.

    I think that considering the price Jimeniz would have taken for the Red Sox to acquire him, the Red Sox should consider floating a similar package out there for guys like Kershaw, Gonzalez/Cahill, Hernandez.

    Lars for Harden seems like an absolute steal to me. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't Lars Anderson be eligible for the rule 5 draft in December anyway? Not worth keeping him on the 40 man roster, IMO.
