  1. Man, it has been quiet here lately. I guess that's what happens when the games don't matter much.
  2. Coco never made a new thread after the Sox won two days ago, and no one wanted to break the mojo.
  3. Comparing Bill's system of cutting players is very different than the Red Sox's system, because baseball players are far more prone to ups and down, and because cutting a player doesn't stop the payments to that player.
  4. Everyone was bashing the Yankee organization's move to build an elite bullpen while making minimal upgrades on starting pitching. Even with these two losses, it looks like the plan is turning out nicely for them. That being said, Feliciano may have just passed Pavano as my favorite Yankee ever.
  5. Scutaro has been beastly lately.
  6. Long time no see. I think you'll be much happier here if you stay out of the gamethreads:lol:
  7. Wow, that's the first time I've seen Salty's tatoos.
  8. But there was no way to rebuild that depth at the trade deadline. There were too many holes to fill.
  9. Theo probably was watching Beckett's mechanics, and made an educated guess that he would not last the whole season healthy.
  10. Honestly, I look at the trading deadline, and I think the FO was eyeing Philadelphia and conceded that this was not a championship year. They always talk about building for the future, and I think while 2011 was a great start, I think they realized that all of the prospects nearing the majors (Doubront, Bowden, Kalish, Iglesias, Lavarnway, Weiland) weren't ready to fill in until 2012. I think the Sox have a good chance to get through the AL, but the Red Sox definitely didn't build their team in a way that they could get through Philly.
  11. Well, starting him was a good decision haha. Such a talented kid.
  12. Woah, there are colors on here?
  13. Scutaro is hitting .283 on the season. Beautiful.
  14. Strange, they mentioned yesterday that it definitely wasn't a sprain. Either way, there are worse things than a little sprain.
  15. So here's a question. I'm in the semi-finals of my primary league, and I snagged Strasburg off waivers. Its a 2SP/2RP/3P eight man league. My pitching staff is Weaver/Kershaw/Price/Beckett/Cueto, but she has Verlander/Sabathia/Hamels so the pitching will be very tight. Should I start Strasburg?
  16. The report is that Beckett didn't sprain his ankle afterall. It just locked up, and they took him out as a precaution. He'll see a specialist, and they'll rest him a bit more, but it doesn't sound like he'll miss any games. Even so, I think it may be time to consider that the Red Sox don't have the starting pitching depth to win the division. Get Beckett and Bedard healthy in time for the big games, that's all that really matters at this point.
  17. Good riddance. Take 2012 off too, fat f***.
  18. The Yankees didn't lose any players that they could not replace.
  19. Besides Buchholz, which major player is hurt that we didn't expect to be hurt?
  20. Bad baserunning by Scutaro, he took that corner way too hard, and it cost Ellsbury a triple and the Sox a run.
