He's going to cost something nice. I wouldn't be surprised to see it cost someone like Margot, but who knows, maybe it could be done with a group of lessor prospects instead.
If I recall, SCM has made multiple topics about disliking the organization, and multiple topics about him leaving Talksox.
SCM is generally well liked, and has the right to do that, but people here have the right to rag on him when he does it.
The idea is you're rotating a position player to give them a break, not that you're rotating multiple poor defensive players in and out of the spot. The Yankees haven't quite figured that out yet.
Rentals are always tricky. Is Cueto worth one of the high ceiling guys ?
Giving up one of Devers/Margot could hurt, but Cueto might push this team over the edge.
I wouldn't be surprised for him to put up a 4.20 ERA/190 IP year. We'd all love a #5 guy is putting up those kind of numbers, but very few teams have that kind of a rotation.
Here's a crazy anecdote:
Buchholz hosted a Bowling fundraiser. But, he is putting such an emphasis on not getting hurt that he isn't bowling at his own fundraiser. He's made of glass, but atleast he knows it.

Facing one of the worst teams in the majors, without their two stars. If the Red Sox have any life in them, they win this series.
Then, they line up Buch, Erod, Miley against the Yanks. That's going to be must watch tv.
What basis do you have for that? It seems like everyone has been vocal about Castillo NOT being a pain in the ass, and that was a big reason why they signed him. Former Red Sox Alex Cora -- his manager last year-- vouched for him big time, saying he adjusted well and worked hard.

Since when were two top 20 prospects + minor pieces laughable ? Maybe expecting a haul for Buchholz is unrealistic, but there hasn't ever been a trade in baseball giving up three top 20 prospects, as far as I can remember.
The rumor around baseball is that the Red Sox are preparing to go either way this trade deadline. If the team makes itself competitive, we very well might see some new pitching.
They're already 10.5 games back on their division. Maybe they fight for the wildcard (6.5 games ) but they have the worst record in the AL right now.
If that continues, I don't see Beane sitting on Zobrist and Kaczmir. Gray might be next after that. Hypothetically, one of these aces might be available but only the GMs really know.
The Athletics are on their way down. Their farm system is among the worst. They lost Shark, Lester, Cespedes, Donaldson last year. Zobrist and kaczmir are gone next year. Reddick the year after.
It might not happen, but it seems like they're heading toward a rebuild.
