  1. I am considering snagging a ticket for this one, weather dependent. Miley is a warm-weather pitcher who might start picking it up the next few weeks -- hopefully he starts making strides forward.
  2. I honestly don't understand switch hitting. The majority of switch hitters we have seen suck from the other side of the plate, and suck badly. Why not continue hitting with against your side, so you atleast get more ABs to potentially improve your dominant side?
  3. Steven Wright didn't embarrass himself on the mound. That probably makes him a #2 in this rotation. Whether you like knuckleballers or not, Wright's 4.02 ERA this year is the best on the staff. Hopefully he doesn't get shelled too soon.
  4. Hanley has 4 hits, 0 R, 0 RBIs. That seems like a rare one.
  5. Masterson supposedly not happy. Oh yeah ? We aren't happy either. If you embarrass yourself on the mound it happens.
  6. Masterson was a good signing at the time because we assumed there was one more arm coming. He was not the last piece of the puzzle, and based on what we've seen, I have no idea why the FO thought he would be.
  7. Kelly is a power arm on a team that has none. I seem him having plenty of value in the pen. Masterson should serve the purpose of long-man for now. There will be plenty of times when this team needs a guy to soak up innings -- I haven't considered roster implications yet though.
  8. I just can't see the Red Sox continuing with Masterson and Kelly. They've both gotten shelled the last couple weeks, and it doesn't seem like there is a chance of them improving. Buchholz is probably going to go later, because he means more to the organization, but he certainly won't last much longer either.
  9. I know everyone here dislikes knuckleballers, but I'd rather a knuckleballer who throws 80 mph over a someone like Masterson throwing 80. Seems like Steven Wright actually wants the job.
  10. I completely forgot both Ubaldo and Kazmir turned their careers around in Cleveland. What an organization for pitching, it has always been a shame that they can't ever pay to keep those arms.
  11. iOrtiz, if you start betting people cases of beer instead of actual money, people might be more willing to take you up on it. Good local beer is always worth the risk.
  12. 8 K/9 is probably the best we're going to see from him. If he continues his current trend and avoids those 8 ER games, he could still get his ERA down to the 3's. I think we all know he's not a #1, but if he can keep improving and become a #2, I'll be happy.
  13. Pitching the first game of a West Coast trip is probably not easy. 5 IP, 3 ER isn't a good start, but considering that it is actually one of his worst this year, that saying something good about Porcello.
  14. Who has Cleveland had for pitching coaches ? It seems like they churn out aces... Sabathia, cliff lee, Kluber and maybe Salazar.
  15. I generally work late, till 7 or so. I probably will need to change my schedule around the Sox. Seattle! I'm going to be tempted to go to Safeco every five games, but beside Felix and Cruz the team hasn't lived up to expectations. If you think Miley has been bad, look at Tajuan Walker's numbers.
  16. Why does the West Coast road trip have to be BEFORE I live on the West Coast? They really should be more considerate of my schedule.
  17. I'm very interested in big pitchers who don't have big names. Maybe the price won't be too crazy. He's had some excellent seasons sandwhiched around a couple of terrible/injury plagued ones.
  18. You're not any different than UN or MVP, you're just more subtle. Its bad enough with the team being this awful. If you guys just stop with the "I told you so's" in every single thread, people wouldn't be so ready to pick a fight with you.
  19. It doesn't matter who started it, you and iortiz certainly are okay with continuing it.
  20. I have lobbying for this flamefest of a thread to be closed for months now. Oh well.
  21. Buchholz having some issues with his leg. Maybe we should put him on the DL to "get him healthy".
  22. I've liked most of Cherrington's moves, but that Lackey trade continues to look as awful as it did day 1. Joe Kelly has given up 5+ runs in all of his last four starts, and Craig's average is sitting at .135.
  23. Wade Miley has kept the team in the game, away, against a top tier defense. If you can't score against Aaron Sanchez with bases loaded, no outs, that's on the offense. And if Thunder's mojo is hurting the offense, it is what it is.
  24. I wonder... Is Thunder Lineup Anti-Mojo causing all these losses? Is VA around?
