  1. Yeah, it is certain that he'll get some earnies:lol: Thank you Carp!
  2. Better they get hits and do nothing than get beat every AB. Hanson will be out by the 5th, and certainly will have some earned runs to show for it. Might as well eat up their BP early today.
  3. On the baseball show this morning, someone mentioned that Umpires have recently been changing the strike zone from a box to an oval. Maybe its anecdotal, but it seems like we've seen it quite a bit lately where nicking the corners is considered a ball. On the other hand, more pitches inside/outside at middle height have been strikes. I wonder if this is a trend that the Red Sox need to put into the heads of their pitchers, and have them make adjustments. We've been seeing this umpires as being consistently bad, but maybe there is a shifting perspective for strikezones.
  4. Why would you throw to 3rd on the double steal? Hamilton is a much slower baserunner than Trout.
  5. Doubront has to deal with a great lineup here. No way they're going to win this game without making Hanson pay for his mistakes-- the offense needs to come through here.
  6. One batter into the game and Cafardo is already plugging his own column, oh man.
  7. Think about it. If your kid is an elite prospect drafted by the Yankees, it almost guarantees that he'll be trade bait, and won't be playing for the Yankees in the majors:lol:
  8. Interesting quote from Ortiz today. He said he was under the impression that the Red Sox were going to sign Josh Hamilton.
  9. My prediction for the series -- Someone will say "Hamilton is washed up right now, he's hitting .240 and his career is over." In response, he'll hit atleast 2 home runs in the series. Red Sox will still win.
  10. I agree with your word choice here:lol:
  11. Where did this guy come from? He suddenly has been crushing the ball in the upper minors. I've never seen Soxprospects be so incredibly negative about a player -- their excerpt is brutal
  12. One actually. He had a bad game against Texas, and the other game was in garbage time innings against Minnesota after Webster gave up 8 runs. So let me say this again -- Doubront has had exactly one start where he's allowed more than 3 ER. Crazy.
  13. After dropping Pettite, Dickey, Johnson, Beckett, Hanrahan, Ian Kennedy, and Peavy now on the DL, my entire pitching staff is built almost entirely on mid-season pickups.
  14. Probably Lavarnway or Wilson. Having a third catcher for DH's is always a smart choice, and Wilson is probably the best reliever they have in AAA right now.
  15. I thought the same exact thing when I read that post.
  16. The Red Sox pick Stankiewicz.... He's about 40 picks below where most rankings had him. Huh.
  17. You really weren't sure at all, were you? WALKOFF AGAINST TEXAS!!! THE BEST TEAM IN THE AL WINS!
  18. Walking Pedroia to get to Ortiz? What? Huh? Really? Are you sure?
  19. The Rays just jizzed their pants to get Stanek at 29.
  20. NAPOLI BEATS OUT THE DP!!! Way to put the effort in !!
  21. Atleast the umpiring is better tonight.
  22. The plate was definitely blocked there.
  23. Trey Ball? I didn't hear anything about him. Anyone have details?
  24. Frazier looks like a real douche.
  25. MLB Network -- "Stewart reminds me a lot of Josh Beckett" Whew, glad the Twins took him.
