  1. He got an RBI on that? Completely missed Pedroia sneaking home. Sweet!
  2. Nava's splits are pretty heavy -- .229/.316/.354/.670 .322/.430/.537/.967 I would argue that it is probably worth continuing the platoon. Gomes is 32 years old, healthy, and has a career .880 OPS against lefties in places like Tampa and Oakland. The guy can hit lefties, and I don't think its fair to judge 60 ABs against them in 2013 -- especially since half of them are from the likes of Pettite, Sabathia, Price, Chen, Cliff Lee, and Holland.
  3. Hmm... are you sure that's what the rule is?
  4. They traded Albers for him straight-up. Both have pitched well the last two years-- its always good to see win-win trades.
  5. Seriously. f*** those guys.
  6. What? These are all very even matchups:lol:
  7. I would rather they baby Buchholz and see him throw 160-180 innings than to see him get hurt and pitch 110, and miss the playoffs. Cy Youngs are fun, but its not worth hurting the team's playoff chances for one.
  8. Did Gomes hesitate at all there, or was he running hard the whole way?
  9. Gomes is not the player you want at bat in this situation.... except tonight apparently.
  10. Remember how scary it was when this current pitcher used to walk a lot of guys when he played for this team? Make it hurt Papi.
  11. High-fives are for people you like. Hugs are for people you love.
  12. The Sox really need to do some damage here. I'd really hate for Papelbon to come in and close out another.
  13. Ital, you always talk about people's sisters. Have you actually had any success there, or is it just a gag? Serious question.
  14. Hard to complain about this game. They're losing to an ace pitching at his best.
  15. Good to see him doing well. I mentioned this yesterday, but the Phillies are punchless right now -- 27th in the league for offense, and Utley was DLed only a few days ago.
  16. Err... you're not talking about Pedro, right?
  17. Through three, he has 45 pitches to Lee's 41. No big deal yet.
  18. The Sox should have took advantage earlier-- Lee looked untouchable that inning.
  19. Two first-ballot hall of fame pitchers on the broadcast. We need more of this!
  20. Oh hey, that's Eck. Is Remy okay?
  21. You've been pretty good with those numbers in the past, I know. It just seems to me that after all these years, it can't be a coincidence.
  22. Here's an unsurprising statistic -- Salty's cERA -- 4.20. Ross's cERA -- 2.70. Salty's trade value must be sky-high right now. Vasquez ? Please?
  23. I'M EVERYONE'S PAL, STALL!
  24. He still has a 6.85 ERA. We need to keep in mind that the Phillies are the #27 offense in the majors-- who just lost Chase Utley. Hopefully he can build momentum after tonight though.
