You lose mobility, but you gain a guy who can actually handle a ball that is hit to him and who can throw accurately.

Coming into this year, he was being packaged as a defensive wizard, a guy with great range and a cannon arm. Not to knock him, he played great defense in the past, but this year he has not been as advertised. The team has a whole, has not played defense first baseball, I believe we have the 2nd most errors in baseball. Surprisingly the team has no problem hitting home runs, the Red Sox score over half their runs via the long ball. Anyway, Beltre has 7 errors, and there have been another handful of balls he could have misplayed, like today, which could have been errors. It just doesn't seem like he gets himself in the right position, he doesn't get his body in front of the ball to at least knock it down. His arm has been inaccurate and wild. I would hope Lowell would get some starts at 3B. His range is limited and not nearly as good as Beltre's, but he fields all the balls that are hit to him and he doesn't throw the ball away. If Beltre wasn't hitting well right now, more people would be calling for this. But, Lowell and Beltre are a wash offensively, so your not losing anything by playing Lowell.

That ball was a clean hit, but Beltre failed to get himself into the proper position to field the ball. He didn't get his body in front of the ball. The guy has poor fundamentals. We complained about Lowell's defensive abilities, but man, Beltre sure does suck.

I guess the Bruins just really wanted to win in Boston. We got game 5, game 4 really was Philly's best effort and they squeaked by in OT. Tuuka played his worst game of the series, although a lot of those goals were redirected, the B's need to force the Flyers away from the net. Stuart looked slow, which is to be expected of him coming back. Lucic is finally starting play well. Philly got Gagne back, but it is too little too late for them. Recchi was amazing. Anyway, if you tell me the Bruins were to score 4 goals, I'd tell you we would win 9/10 games. This was just that one game. We got game 5 in the bag! ECF here we come!

Dice-K sucks, that can be concluded any time during the year, Beltre is hot, that is lucky, he wont' be hitting like this all year. Red Sox rotation=bouncing back and pitching the way the should, which is a good sign that at least the rotation is going in the right direction, minus Dice-K

All Ortiz does now is Ground Into Double Plays' he grounded into two last night, and that is at least the 2nd time this year he has grounded into a DP will the bases loaded. He has to sit, he's become a big liability out there.
