  1. Fawk Thomas and his hip surgery. He needs to get traded. At least contract negotations have began with Seidenburg
  2. Terrible playing calling at the end of the 4th quarter and OT, WTF where they doing out there? As good as Pierce was the other night, he couldn't hit a three to save his life. I don't know why Ray Allen wasn't given the ball at the end of OT.
  3. Reds, only b/c I still follow Bronson Arroyo
  4. The team could build a 45,000-50,000 seat stadium and probably sell out most games. Then maybe ticket prices could drop in the bleacher seats, but I can't imagine how expensive seats behind the plate or Monster seats would be in a new stadium. Then again, if they do build a new stadium, I'm not sure if I want another Green Monster. The Green Monster, the Triangle, Pesky's Pole, the bizarre varying heights of the OF walls going from 40 feet in left to 6 feet in right, are what make Fenway, Fenway. I don't want to see that in another park. If you think about it, why the f*** would you have a 40 foot wall in a new stadium? Wasn't the Green Monster built for a reason back in the day? Something to keep more balls off the road or something? Anyway, 2012, 100 years, should be the last year for Fenway
  5. You can't go crazy with giving Clay innings, regardless of age, if an arm hasn't handled over 200 innings in a season, you can't go crazy and let the kid throw 220 innings. With a new sense of confidence, great pitch selection, and awesome results, the last thing Clay needs right now is arm problems to hamper his progress. As a side, Delcarmen appears to have gotten his velocity back as seen over his last several appearances.
  6. Its about damn time, this team should be playing like this; great pitching and enough runs to get the job done. I'm glad Theo had the smarts to hold onto Lester in Clay when their names were being floated for trades.
  7. Congrats to Dice-K, by far his best start in a Sox uni
  8. Alex Gonzalez would have had that haha
  9. there is a first time for everything..... let me whack off to Beltre. brb
  10. I never really read much into Varitek making that much a difference in pitchers and in general I don't like to look at catchers ERA, but his pitch selection and game management has been amazing when he has been in there. If Varitek likes and accepts this role, I hope the Sox bring him back so he can help groom a catcher for the future. Tek said he could play at least three more years, so it would be great if we would remain the teams backup.
  11. If the Red Sox want to catch the Yankees and Rays they need to beat them. Right now the Sox are a combined 2-9 against the Yanks/Rays this year. You make up ground by beating teams heads up, its the quickest way to make up ground. What this team needs and can realistically get is middle relief help.
  12. The one thing we don't need is starting pitching
  13. Yep, I'm still waiting for Mark Bellhorn and Pokey Reese to get their dues
  14. He's just a slow starter I guess, just like Teixeria. There is ST a reason, so guys come out ready and don't need a month to get going. I would understand a couple bad starts to start the year, but watching him waste 4 or 5 knowing it hurts his Cy Young numbers is painful to watch.
  15. I don't care how many pitches you have, when you need to get 9 outs to have a shot at a no-no, you leave the guy out there
  16. Everyone knew Lester would be fine once May rolled around. Its about time Clay starting pitching well.
  17. Is he feeling the pressure of his contract? He played in Boston before with the pressure of replacing Manny Rameriz in left field, so I don't think that is an excuse. Moving from Fenway to Citi Field has to effect his power numbers. Then of course just playing for the Mets has a detrimental effect for its players haha
  18. With the way Buchholz is pitching right now, and with the struggles of Lackey and Beckett, if SD calls up says we will trade A-Gon for Clay (other pieces), can the Sox do that if Clay keeps pitching well?
  19. Bay would be doing much better in Boston.
  20. you know what I mean, I hope. How about, playing less s***** and living up expectations more?
  21. I believe based on production, the Red Sox have the third best DH in baseball, so Ortiz is out performing nearly every other DH. Most of us wrote the guy off, but look at him, what a turnaround. I'm not sold yet, he needs to keep it steady for the remainder of the season. As I've said before he is the key and the wild card to this offense. Look, he'll never be the 03-07 Ortiz of old, but there is no reason why he can't put up 30/100 this year. As for him coming back, I think he's gone no matter what kind of numbers he puts up. I think he's pissed off with the media and the team and he'll always hold a grudge against them for the rest of his career.
