  1. You could argue that many players in baseball had their best years fueled by HGH, Steriods Alex Rodriguez, Jason Giambi, Clemens, Pettitte, David Ortiz, Sosa
  2. Holliday in 2010
  3. So Howard Bryant is gay? Eh, not surprised...
  4. brad lidge can make any philly fan uneasy, but thankfully they won
  5. Agreeance. I too just think Holliday is the better hitter. Bay went from a bad park for hitters in the N.L. where he was not surrounded by much with the Pirates, to getting to go to the Red Sox in a much better lineup and park. Of course it benifited him as a hitter. Holliday went from offense haven Coors Field to Oakland initially, where he would be surrounded by little and in a massive pitcher's park. He then got a boost by going to the Cardinals and being with Pujols. But all in all, I think the Red Sox may view Holliday as better hitting talent than Bay. Really, Bay had months of being a non-factor for the Sox in the middle of the season, while having some trouble when not being fed fastballs.
  6. yeah. go phillies. we just can't have the rockies being in the NLCS, not good baseball.... plus they are having football weather, ugh.
  7. I love playoff baseball. Unfortunately I'm a Red Sox fan and Papelbon blew some game today, from what I heard. Now, I have to watch other teams, the horror!
  8. I know this isn't popular to say after the missed catch in the NLDS, but I wouldn't mind getting Holliday. Yeah, it could be argued against with strong conviction, i.e. "National League hitter", product of Coors Field for years, etc. But Gammons was saying on WEEI in Boston this past week that Holliday said while with the A's in Fenway earlier in 2009, that he always wanted to be a Cardinal or Red Sox and just wants to play where baseball matters. He also took it like a man from what I heard in his postgame after the missed catch. I am no Bay fan. So maybe I just am guilty of wanting to go with something different (like Holliday)... I also would love to see an Adrian Gonzalez deal, but that requires backing up the U-Haul. As will a King Felix deal. Wouldn't mind getting H.Matsui to DH, believe it or not, a pipedream.... but hey, he kills the Sox. I like him as a hitter. He needs to purely be a DH though, and we have Papi clogging that spot.
  9. I hear you... When I signed up, I had trouble thinking of something at random for a screen name. I figured Lester would be a Red Sox for awhile and went with him... plus I love Lester as a pitcher. Well, here's to hoping for a nice bat in 2010
  10. Thank you. Hey, interesting your scrn. name is Jason Bay... since I just have a feeling he won't be back next year
  11. Not exactly arriving at happy hour! :papelbon: I found this site from a Google search, mostly out of needing a good place to mourn/vent this 2009 season coming to pass... Sigh. I used to go by ESPN's Red Sox board, but that has become a wasteland. Mostly trolls. So, I guess this is offseason talk time instead of playoff fun. Well then, "Go Sox in 2010...!!!"
