  1. That's the thing, is there's a double standard there, and I don't see the moral difference between joking about 9/11, cancer, rape, or anything else like that. Just because it's 9/11 doesn't give it extra protection from jokes. Is it okay to joke about cancer or AIDS? You watch south park, who've made several episodes poking fun at AIDS and cancer. It causes death, even moreso than 9/11. The fact that I was 12 doesn't mean anything, I remember it vividly, and it was a tragedy. No one's disputing it. But I think it's pretty bad that we have to demonize someone because they joked about 9/11, to the point where we're questioning their sanity. Now this is MY last post on the subject.
  2. Dark humor does not mean insanity, I'm a proud American, I absolutely despise the people who were responsible for 9/11 (I'm not going to get into who's responsible, because that's a argument that will go nowhere) and I will always remember the day it happened. I have hard feelings about 9/11, but there's a difference between a joke and saying "The US deserved what they got on 9/11 HAHAHAHAHA!!!!" or something hateful like that. I would even say that's f***ed up, but this is a joke.
  3. Who made that rule? Last I checked, we got the freedom of speech. Sorry you're such a PC supporter bro, but that's your problem, not mine or BTR's. This isn't even the first time a tragedy or death has been made fun of on this site. Diseases, tragedies, deaths, it doesn't matter, you can joke about it. If it's not said in the name of hate, then I don't see the problem with it. Get over it.
  4. I think my defense of the joke is pretty valid, and I don't think you need to rub it in, whether his defense is good or not, I think his defense was more against Reck, who thinks that jokes about tragedies is a sign of insanity. Otherwise, who cares, there were other people not New Yorkers who died on 9/11.
  5. Morally, what is the difference between a joke about 9/11, and a joke about anything else that has caused death? I think you're severely overreacting, he's a lunatic because of a harmless joke on something that happened years ago.
  6. Morally what is wrong with poking fun at a tragedy if it's quite obviously said NOT in the name of hate, but humor? Is dark humor seriously that wrong now, are we that politically correct that even people who don't think they're politically correct think that a JOKE about a tragedy is too f***ed up to post?
  7. More like you're just the most irritatingly pessimistic type of fan. It's a sport, it generates tension between fans and other teams, get over it dude, the fact that you don't feel that way doesn't make you level-headed or rational. If you were a rational thinking human being, you wouldn't be criticizing the Sox for things they haven't even done yet, like losing the Wild Card to the Rays, who aren't playing too well themselves right now. That's actually the opposite of rational thinking. No one's telling you to be optimistic, hell the performance the Sox have turned in has been sickening to watch, but your pessimism levels are hard to tolerate, and I can see where people would question your fanhood because of some of the crap you've said over the past month.
  8. I can't lie, as optimistic as I am, the way they're playing right now is sickening.
  9. There's not really a MJ of this decade, or any other decade. There was a MJ from 1984-1998, and his name was Michael Jordan. There was a best played at different times before and since, but when you say someone's the MJ of their era, that's saying that they absolutely towered over their competition and they were the undisputed greatest player of that time. MJ is the only guy who is the absolute 100% only answer to the question "who is the greatest player from 1984-1998".
  10. I never claimed to know the true definition of the fan, or to be a superior fan to anyone. Where you got that from, I'm not so sure. I thought I was pretty clear when I said: All I really said was that saying f*** you to your team is a pretty lousy thing for a fan to say, and I'm seeing a lot of that crap.
  11. I just think it's annoying when people act like all hope is gone, when they don't even have faith. I don't care if you criticize players, or the management, or whatever. I care when you act like the season's done, and just complain about everything, and even go as far as saying "f*** this team, I'm done, we're done, we don't deserve this." It's frustrating to watch this, but that's not passion when you say that sort of crap, that's just pink hat pussy BS. If we lose out and don't make it, then we don't deserve to be there. I'm not asking everyone to be optimistic, I'm just disappointed in how easily we've given up. Not exactly what I'd call passionate.
  12. Trade for Bugs Bunny. WHOLE TEAM FOR BUGS BUNNY!!!
  13. Vlad's always swung at that s***, he's just no longer good enough to launch them into the upper deck.
  14. I think we've got a new resident crybaby pink hat fan.
  15. Lol, k. If they make the playoffs, pretty sure they deserve it. If they don't then they didn't.
  16. Seeya later, you probably hopped on board this offseason anyway, we won't miss ya.
  17. I don't fight, I antagonize.
  18. Well you've been generally a lot more mellow over the last year. I think you've only had one big fight since then, and it was with J_E over that Lebron stuff. Who hasn't had a fight with J_E?
  19. I think dark humor is great, PC is a total crock. It's not like it was said in the name of hate or anything.
