  1. Wait, Morrison actually did something? LOL
  2. This is actually a really good argument. Because if you go in this direction with everything, where does it end? Professional sports are there to entertain the fans more than anything else, because well, that's the catalyst to having professional sports. If it's not fun and people stop going to see the games, then there's no incentive to have the sport to begin with. No income=no game. I think the whole fairness thing is overblown a lot. I'm not really old-school or a purist by any means, and I would actually like there to probably be some sort of way to challenge bad calls, but I also realize that entertains fairness in everything else. Uniform fields/climates, etc. does not sound like any fun to watch, and fun is the only reason why it exists.
  3. Well yeah, but he isn't hitting jumpers. He plays great D and he's quick, fast, and passes/handles well. He has ass for shooting ability though and it holds him back.
  4. Bleacher Report is full of homer fans. Anyone can write that s***, saw one on the best pitches in baseball history and Heath Bell's fastball was on the list. I have a hard time believing that since 1876, a 95 mph fastball is a top-100 pitch, and out of the bullpen as well. So this bleacherreport link holds like no value. Just letting you know.
  5. Pulling a cruising pitcher because of a pitch count and putting in struggling relievers in when you really need an out is more desirable than Bobby V being a tool? Disagree. Tito could make a game interesting real quick with poor managerial moves. Better players manager than Bobby V to be sure. I think you're just trying to create a new scapegoat. This team is playing like horseshit.
  6. You mean like leading the AL in hits last year, and having over .950 OPS? Because that's also part of the package, which you so conveniently forgot. Let's make an effort to be rational, okay?
  7. Yeah, the Sox really don't have that guy who will always give them a chance vs. any lineup and any pitcher anymore. No one in the rotation is truly overpowering.
  8. OKC in 6.
  9. Alright, I'll also say this. Maybe this is just sleep deprivation making me want to be more reasonable, but I don't think people should be run out of here because they're pessimistic, or have their fanhood questioned. I think pumpsie is clearly passionate about the team and gets stressed probably watching and hoping the team wins. I think he's excessive with the pessimism, and he almost seems to rub it in whenever a negative prediction is right, and that's a real crock, but you guys telling them to leave and censoring their voice, that's just as annoying. This isn't like Muggah, where he was making unprovoked attacks on people. I haven't really seen pumpsie call anyone a "rump swab" for having an opposite opinion.
  10. As stressful as it is to watch the Sox, what's with the Eeyore-like pessimism? You'd think we were 10 games below .500. You call yourself a fan, and you've given up on your team with so many ganes to play? This is to all the mopey whiners.
  11. LOL, don't mean to give myself props, but I had Jacko and Meh looking silly. Forgot about this.
  12. That's not realism though, it's pessimism.
  13. Yeah, this is just a case of not checking your research.
  14. Vicious? I've very very seldom lost my cool posting here. Usually when I do, granted, it's from your ignorance/hypocritical ass-talkery. You keep making these useless threads, and yeah it looks like a passive attempt to get people to eat their crow. Where do I need to admit being wrong? Drop the straw man defense bro. I never said Salty is incapable. I think he's probably going to fade, and it's early to have this guy's children yet, that's about the extent of what's been said. Pull your head out of your ass.
  15. His career suggests he's more than capable. Like BTR said, only way to find out is to see what happens. I don't think he's incapable of .800 OPS, I just don't see why everyone's boning up again. It was pathetic last year, and it still is this year. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. If you made the prediction "I think he finishes with .850 OPS", it's fine and dandy, but you're practically congratulating him on that, 60 games into the year, when you make these threads. This is basically an "eat crow, bitches" thing to do, a la last year. You ended up being wrong, he slumped for a couple months at the end. Why don't you and SFF understand this very simple concept. You have to try to debate realism, and convince everyone they should eat their crow. I'll leave it at that.
  16. LOL. Really, this thread is a massive overreaction. Ortiz is going to finish the year with .900 OPS as usual.
  17. Graduating tonight? Awesome, grats. Glhf.
  18. Blowhards trying to measure their dicks when the series isn't even over. Lawl.
  19. Yeah, we still haven't won s*** yet.
