    Hi...

    Welcome to Talksox!
  4. I will apologize as well, I took part in it, should have left it alone. It's not usually like this, it's usually lots of fun.
  5. Damn, yeah, the Mets may have really screwed themselves.... I don't think he's going to be able to play defense for the duration of that contract, and I could see him being traded to an AL team as a DH at a pretty low cost in two or three years. His bat is good, but yeah, like example said, everyone was basically under the opinion that he would be a DH in a couple of seasons, and this just testifies to that statement being true.
  6. MLB.tv is a very good thing, btw. I would get it if I could afford it. I think it's pretty much every game. I don't know about you, but I'm a baseball fan about as much as I am a Red Sox fan, so I like to watch any games I can.
  7. Welcome!
  8. I always intended on at least trying to watch it, but whenever I see it advertised, it's always on Pay Per View, and I don't even have a working TV right now anyways, but even if I did, I can't afford Pay Per View, it's so expensive. I couldn't even afford it for something that I know I'd like.
  9. I too got the reference from Slumdog Millionaire. I have no idea who any of the Cricket guys are.
  10. Ricky Ponting or Jack Hobbs.
  11. I think Nick Johnson's a downgrade personally, and he's played 140 games ones, and never broken the 150 barrier, while Johnny Damon has, essentially, never gone under 150 games in his career. Johnson averages about 100, to Damon's 150, not to mention OPS+ says Damon's an upgrade even without health factors. Matsui is substantially better in OPS+ than Granderson. Matsui's OPS+ has been around 130, while Granderson has been declining in each of the past few seasons. I don't expect him to continue to decline, but it's a trend nonetheless. I'd say he probably improves on last season, but will he improve to what Matsui did? Doubtful. He plays better defense though, and overall, I guess I'd say it's pretty even.
  12. Apparently you're still drunk.
  13. Because there are certain people who obviously think that his W-L record is important, like HOF voters, among others.
  14. Then how shouldn't he be out of the hall of fame? He was durable, had a span of about 7 years of total dominance, and your argument has basically been that he "didn't make the all star team enough times" or some s*** like that, and the reason he didn't make the all star team was because of bias and lack of a W-L record. He did play on s***** teams. I consider any team that isn't a legitimate contender to be a s***** team, and you should look at some of the teams he played for. His ERA speaks for that fact. How you hold a 3.3 ERA over 22 years, and have a Win% that low proves that. No need to complicate that. Your argument hold little water. Sorry to disappoint you.
  15. Even when ND sucks ass.
  16. I personally think that a park that has a strong advantage for a certain type of hitter should be considered hitters parks, with an asterisk. At Miller Park, the advantage did not apply for Cameron, but at Fenway, it would. However, both parks are still hitter's parks. I think the only 100% hitter's park is Coors, which is basically going to bad any, and every type of hitter's stats.
