    how good of a catching prospect is this Michael Thomas we signed? a high ceiling guy at all?

    well you look at a few things at first and you will learn the more subtle aspects later A.Speed for instance, the opposing pitcher today,Verlander, was hitting 100MPH consistently on his fast ball thats amazing for a pitcher the average is around 94 on a Fastball, I think. B.movement, some pitches have natural movement on them like curve balls that obviously curve in an effort to fool hitters the bigger the movement the better the pitch. and there are many more ways to tell when a pitcher is pitching well but those are at least how to tell each individual pitch for starters. and if there are no runs and no one on base most of the game then the pitcher is probably doing pretty well. so chances are with alot of movement and great placement its the pitcher doing well. if he is giving up alot of base hits but getting lucky and getting out of a lot of jams then its probably ineptness on the side of the runners.

    over Papi, yes and he plays defense well and it allows us to take Tek from the lineup for V-Mart so Kotch and V-mart>Papi and Tek and it upgrades Defense at 3B and it keeps good D at 1B

    unfortunately true.

    not optimally, optimally Lowell DHs Kotch plays 1st Youk plays 3rd and V-Mart catches so OPTIMALLY he subtracts Papi.

    and chances are that if Youk was in the lineup atleast one of Drew/Pedroia is too...I do agree that if Youk is on the field our chances to win become far better than without but its kind of a moot point, he isnt here and I think without Youk that game is very hard to win whether or not Drew or Dusty are in the lineup.

    stealing home is on par with a triple play IMO but watching a No-No is one of the most magical things to me. like when Lester threw his No hitter, a kid freshly recovering from cancer playing in the most magical park in the game with some of the most electric fans even more energized by the fact they are witnessing a beautiful event, just watch the kids play their heart out in the upcoming little league world series and tell me that baseball is just a "game" to me its more than a game its a one of a kind feeling that baseball creates, the only thing ive ever experienced that is anywhere close to it is going to see my high school play in the state championship for Texas (high school Football is pretty big in West Texas) and it is far behind any of the great moments the sox have had in recent years, game 4 in the ALCS in 2004 is one of my happier moments in life.

    Thats exactly what I said, I believe he was just careless with some supplements but I also think that he is atleast 36 and that explains his recent struggles...

    hitting the baseball well is very difficult...I could foul pitches off my foot allday before i hit anything, I dont know if its just my s***** swing but I foul pitches off my foot ALL THE TIME.
