    Not to defend his actions in any way, but MDC did the same thing mid season. Now. Having said that, where I come from, lying to an employer subjects an employee to disciplinary action. Written warnings, suspension, and termination. This guy has a rather robust contract that guarantees him what, $8-9mil./year? He should be made to reimburse the club part of his 2009 pay.

    Aside from Mayo, Vollmer, and Edelman, there have been very few impact players yielded from those drafts. Although the DBs are continuing to develop.

    I'm glad the Sox did not blow a wad on this kid. Poor cost/benefit risk. It's also good he won't be in pinstripes. Go Reds! Lol.

    Seriously? He sure looked hittable in many if not most outings. Lots of shots to the track, some over it. He gave up the lead and looked very pedestrian in many of his efforts. Not just my opinion, either. Every media member in Boston was harping on it during the season. Of course, they know squat.

    Yeah, saving his arm. And, while he may have"played to his career averages" in 2009, he clearly was in trouble with too many walks and hits in close situations. He was in trouble , seemingly, more often than not. 38-3 is really good. It just does not reach the bar that he had set so high in previous years.

    As it turns out, Lester Hudson has been picked-up by his hometown team, the Memphis Grizzlies. He now has the remainder of his contract guaranteed ($260,000.). It will be interesting to see what he can do with some regular playing time. I hope he gets it.
