  1. I read an article on the ESPN Boston site this morning that sated that the area of concern is indeed at the brain stem. The Dr. doing the surgery is supposed to be the best and most experienced at this procedure. Still, the kid could die. It sounds like if all goes well that he may be able to have a productive life. Although baseball is probably not going to be part of it. I just hope he survives and can have a somewhat normal life. I too am anxious to hear more of what Jacko has to say. Hopefully no one will jump all over him for his comments. http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/news/story?id=4992990
  2. He's done.
  3. Lol. Why, yes. The kid has the tools but may not have the drive and commitment. Oh well. Next.
  4. Why bash anyone on Talksox? Yes, it is a Red Sox discussion board. There are many such sites. What distinguishes Talksox from others is an individual's ability (privilege) to say what is on their mind. That includes Yankee fans. Of all types. One of the things one can gain from the aging process is an understanding that people are different and have different views from your own. Jacko has conservative political views. He's a Yankees fan. Does that make him different from me? Why, yes. But I listen to what he says because he is well educated and expresses himself well. And I can have an opportunity to learn from that. As a human being, I have the upper hand on the rest of the animal kingdom. I can differentiate. I choose to exercise that privilege.
  5. I welcome and enjoy diversity.
  6. I posted this quite a while ago. That will put the expansion Browns over the top. Let's go Browns! 6-10!
  7. So there are NO HOMERS on Talksox. Ok.
  8. f*** Comcast/NESN ! "Technical Difficulties"for two hours! The game comes on for a few minutes and I see the Sox score two runs. Go Tugg! I leave the room to get my Daughter a snack and I miss a triple play. Double f***!
  9. Lest anyone get the impression that I seriously want to get rid of Dice-K, I don't. I'm just sick of all the s*** associated with his tenure with the Sox. I wish he would be as consistantly good as Oki. Also, I don't hate anyone who is Japanese. But I do have an understanding of what they did in WW ll. Their attack on Pearl was a savage act of cowardice that few people of my generation and younger have an understanding of. History books and sensationalized Hollywood movies don't tell the story. I spent two weeks in Hawaii in 1997 and visited the Pearl Harbor Museum/Memorial. There, I saw raw footage of what happened and was able to get access to information that told exactly what happened. I wish all Americans could go there. I'd love to meet your Dad Ted. That would be really cool. I remember back in 1967 my Aunt bought me a Panasonic Pocket AM radio. That was a big deal back then. NO ONE bought Japanese products. I never left the house with that radio. It would have been smashed and I would have been beaten up. Japanese products were seen as inferior back then! Hahahaha! I listened to all the Red Sox games on that radio. Including the Tony C. beaning.
  10. Let him pursue his true calling either pulling a rickshaw or making sushi. f***-em. Remember Pearl Harbor!
  11. Sell him back to NPB.
  12. I just realized that RedSoxRooter's sig is comprised of clickable links. Everyone has to listen to the Earl Weaver one! Dream On is most excellent too.
  13. I've said this before. It's difficult to read. His text should be left justified and the point size should be bumped up to to 10 or so (whatever default is). It's annoying as hell.
  14. Maybe the Sox can offer up Bard plus 3 for Joe!
  15. I'm grabbing my popcorn now. This should be good.
  16. The only thing that seems to be interesting is seeing how all the prospects look. That and watching Wakefield come back.
  17. Lol. A meaningless thread turns into more s*** slinging. How predictable.
  18. Ben Watson has reached a 3 year agreement for 12 mil with the Browns.
  19. This may be Jacko's source. http://www.bostonherald.com/track/inside_track/view/20100311tensions_high_for_nomar_garciaparras_return/srvc=home&position
  20. Two reasons (among many) that the Browns continue to suck.
  21. Ugh. That's why I'm watching NESN's rebroadcast of Nomar's 3hr, 2 grand slam, 10 RBI game against Seattle.
