  1. Nice pick by Holt! Suppose he is fired up?
  2. And he can hit too! More moves to come!
  3. If JD DRew were healthy and in shape I bet he could be more productive than what we have out there now!!!! Seriously, BC must be talking to other teams at this point. He knows that the Sox do not have a viable choice for the outfield in house. Doesn't he?
  4. Can anyone say with a straight face that the Sox are not a better team now with Drew at short? It may take a week or two to get his timing at the plate back. When this happens, he will likely be in the starting lineup and hitting about .250 or so. I think that is better than what Middlebrooks was doing and Drews defense is much better than X's. Of course this does not make the Sox instant contenders. The other problems need to be addressed as well. This is a step in the right direction and shows that the Sox have not given up on the season.
  5. And that has to piss Cashman off. I hope that it does, anyway!
  6. It would be cool if Ben dropped Stanton on us now!
  7. And of course a side benefit is this will prevent the Yankees from signing him for this year. Cool.
  8. Do you want Love in green?
  9. I meant that Boston is a major league city. Not a minor league city. In OTHER words, players don't come up to the big league team to LEARN the game and to DEVELOP.
  10. Yes!
  11. I get the feeling that Pineda is New York's version of Doubrant. Immensely talented but stupid as crap.
  12. I'm certainly not throwing in the towel either, not yet anyway. The entire Sox outfield is not producing offensively. The are no viable internal replacements. The Sox need to acquire at least one corner outfielder and maybe a center fielder as well so Bradley can go down to Pawtucket to get his act together at the plate. Something needs to be done at third base as well. I don't know what external candidates are available. At the very least I say bring Drew back and slide X to 3rd. Drew is not an offensive juggernaut but he will play excellent defense ( something we have not seen nor are we likely to see anytime soon from X ) and he is a proven major league hitter. Even if he hits only .230 something he would be worth the move. 2-3 years at 8-11 mil should get it done. I don't care about potential blockage of minor league talent. The game is played to be won - NOW. Buchholtz better get it fixed very soon or bring up Workman for a shot. Peavy is inconsistent but can do the job for now. If not, make another move for a right handed arm. Doubrant is maddening to watch but he is pitching well enough NOW to justify his spot. I think that everyone here is over estimating the ability of our minor league stars now. None of them are ready for a full time gig in Boston. The Sox are not the Marlins or another "poor" team that can and will accept a lot of loosing. The Sox need to make some moves by the trade deadline so they can be in the hunt for a playoff birth THIS YEAR. I was in favor of Bradley starting the year in Center and hopeful that his bat would be somewhat productive. That has not happened. Boston is not a player development franchise. This city will not accept a year where many rookies come up and flounder while learning the game at the major league level. Anyone who accepts a steady died of loosing in this town and market is a looser and does not belong here.
  13. When is Pineda due to return?
  14. I think that the FO must be working on resolving the team problems. After all, they want to keep the money coming in. If this team keeps playing this way much longer, the Sox will play to many more empty seats and loose out on a ton of money that they could have made. They must at least appear to be competitive to sustain fan interest.
  15. If the Sox are sellers at the deadline, would they trade Lester? If they know that they will not be signing him and can get something useful back, what is to prevent them form letting him go?
  16. I second the motion!!!!!
  17. When he and Heidi moved to North in his rookie season, they became customers of my business. They remained my customers until I sold my business. I spoke with Heidi on the phone many times. She was always very normal and did not act like she was something special. I spoke with both of them several times as they would walk by my house ( or ride bicycles ). Again, Heidi was always pleasant. Teddy, on the other hand, was always somewhere between aloof and unfriendly. Once while working in their newest house ( the yellow one ), Teddy was changing something in one of his electrical outlets. I politely suggested that it would be advisable to kill the breaker first. Right? He looked at me as if I was a jerk and ignored me. Of course Heidi being the one that wears the pants asked him to wait until she had turned the breaker off. So the jovial lad that we see on ESPN is not who he is in person. At least from my experience with him. Also, he is not nearly as big as you would think. Although he is ripped. Lastly, they have a Black toilet in their basement. The only black toilet I have ever seen. Lol.
  18. No. I never met him and truthfully, if I had I am not sure what about him would make me suspect that he would be capable of killing 3 people. You never know!
  19. No. I owned a house about a city block from him off Landry ave. Oldwood Rd. S. Many Pats players live around there. Teddy Bruschi and a few others. Vinitieri lived up my street until he went to Indy. He was a nice guy. Teddy is a dick but his wife is pleasant.
  20. I am referring to the broadcast media and the way they cater to the masses.
  21. Amen.
  22. Welcome to the rogue state.
