Kind of boring start to the game. I guess that is okay as long as the Sox are not losing.

I find is curious that it took Pedroia to find an aberration or whatever in Napoli's hand position. Does the hitting coach view the same video? Is it not his resposibility to do so and to recognize changes that may be problematic? I'm not blaming anyone here. But I am curious how only Pedroia noticed the "firing position" problem.

The bright side with Moncada is that he will get proper instruction in this country while maturing in our MiLB system. If he is as talented as so many seem to think, he could turn out to be something special. We missed out big time on Ryan Westmoreland.

Entitled my ass. The Sox I have been following have won 3 WS 49 years. I just want to see good baseball. In this marked it is put up or shut up. Because we have invested way more than most fans. It must be fun labeling others with generalizations when one is so perfect.

Of all the games to miss!!! All I was able to see was the 3rd and the bottom of the 9th. I assume you all had a lot more fun tonight? Nap with two dingers? Yowza. And Wright pitched well? Amazingness!!!!

He was a dud last night. Some will point to first game jitters or lack of familiarity of the ball park as factors in his poor defensive showing. I think it is more a product of the poor coaching and instruction he received in Cuba. This is all my opinion, of course. I just see athletes with poor skills coming from there recently. You all poo-pooed my lambasting of our Cuban left fielder but after he was gone almost everyone in the Boston area talked about what a s***** fielder he was. No one was talking about his arm anymore. This kid will likely be much the same. Good athlete with unrefined skills. Anyone can drop a fly ball. But doing it when it was an automatic out and with only one hand, well, there is no excuse. Then there is the stupid basket catch with his chest on the right field foul line. Had the stooge taken two more strides he could have cough that ball up near his chest and shoulders while standing and running. He was no where near the stands. Just terrible play that cost the Sox. But hey. He will sure provide a spark of some kind.

I think he had two hits and a walk last night. Cooled off.

Other teams play in the same weather as the Sox. Maybe they will start getting more hits and runs and thoroughly trounce the Sox. Have you considered that?

I too remember that the Angels were the Sox' bitch. The Angels aren't exactly a powerhouse so I see no reason why the Sox can't put them back where they belong. If Wright does not get clobbered in that knuckleballer way the Sox can put a major beat down on a mediocre team. I want nothing less than a blank stare of desperation on Socia's gerblesq face. Make the Angels go cry to their Mommies. SO SOX!!!!1!!!!!!

Yup. That kid is just a very good hitter. He'll take some lumps but the talent is going to prevail.

Excellent post. But I wish to point out that JBJ had only 13 AB during his latest Boston cup of Joe. He faced Dickey , The King, And Gray. I am not making excuses for him. But that's some heavy artillery. I think Jacko is correct. JBJ has not been given a complete chance THIS SEASON.

I think that this is a fair assessment. Of course things COULD turn around, that is true. The thing is that we are scratching our heads trying to understand why this team sucks while at the same time saying that this can not last forever. That makes no sense at all. It is wishful thinking backed by a bunch of stats that are no longer relevant. This team is not built to win a championship of any kind this year.
