    And while I think of it, how lousy has been our right field play and production? All that supposed depth and we have the weakest RF in baseball, I believe. I wasn't counting on Vic to play very much this season and it looks like that is what is happening. Too bad. Because he still can play well in all phases of the game when he is healthy enough to take the field. That bat still works and he has not lost his eye. Castillo has been counted on to provide a spark but this was delusional thinking the way I see it. He is an undisciplined batter with questionable judgment in the field. He makes two web-gem catches one night and then the next he will misread a carom of a wall or just boot it somehow. The guy belongs in AA to learn some skills, refine others, and to learn how the game is played here. Overall, it's just a mess. At least Mookie and Swihart are fun to watch. Even Bogey has improved his D and has begun to show promise at the plate.

    Can you image? This team is so off course. I keep waiting for a sustained sign of life by the offense. AS much as we complain about the pitching, it has been good enough most nights over the past two-three weeks to keep them in the game. Dead bats in the middle of the order have been a real disappointment. I think that the table setters have done a decent job. I can't remember the last time I saw so many two out hits that turned into zilch. All types of weird things. Of course I have not given up on our team. I keep waiting for something, anything, to get this team moving forward. All I hope for is a chance to see a win each night. Remember that feeling of expecting the Sox to win each game? I do.

    I don't follow soccer much. I do think that his denial of any responsibility for what has happened on his watch is total ********. The f*** said that he could not keep an eye on everyone who works under or with him. What a cop-out. It's like that scene in the movie CASINO where DeNiro fires the hick in charge of the slots. Absolute power corrupts I guess.

    I'm a Porcello fan but I have some difficulty in understanding how he could be a starter for 5 years and not have 4 seam location and command. And I don't like that his approach has been changed for whatever reason. It's one thing to evolve as a pitcher. It's another to have your strengths taken away becasue someone else says it the way to go. But who knows. Good post Kimmi.

    We all give Ben s*** for the assembly of a less than stellar staff this year. I have worked on the assumption that the Sox are setting this up for a good to outstanding 2016 and 2017. Ben is brighter than we think. Maybe this is wishful thinking. I'm not sure.

    None of this surprises me at all. We all see the fire, the all out effort. We hear the sarcasm and humor. We assume he is a leader. What we never hear is that Pedroia is a pretty bright guy. Sort of like Larry Bird in a way. I hope he has a session with Ortiz.

    It was great to see a Sox young pitcher not crap all over himself. Certainly the highlight of a dismal season so far. Let's not forget that his arrival was not exactly by design. It appears that it was more out of necessity.
