  1. lol. Another Kennedy lover!
  2. I do agree that the Pizza ( at least in the Hamptons ) is some of the best I've had. But I can also say that THE BEST pizza that I have had was in St. Petersburg, Russia. So what the f*** could I possibly know?
  3. I just love this. Of course I am one of those rare people who does not like NYC.
  4. I miss that too!!!! Did you ever see Earl Weaver go at it? Dick Williams? Lol!!!
  5. Tell that to the pitcher. That was the highlight of his career.
  6. Oddly, this would seem to be the best utilization for technology. But I don't see it happening. With all of the Gambling being sanctified in pro sports, I think we may be stuck with replay. So much money and so many people involved.
  7. Wasn't he a 1st Baseman for The Rockies? I'm confused. Anyway, that pitcher got jobbed. As I recall, the offending ump came clean after the fact and nothing was changed.
  8. I've been saying it all along. Pablo will get his chances. Unless Shaw rakes. And even then I can see Shaw moving over to spell Hanley with Pablo taking third.
  9. I kind of feel the same way but then I remember that pitcher for Detroit ( I believe ) who had a no-no going and was screwed by a bad call at first. Not that it mattered to many when it happened.
  10. As Ted said, this is not true. I read every post you make. I don't always agree with your opinions, but I always know that what you post is well thought out and I particularly enjoy your explanations of stats and such. I try not to turn my back on an opportunity to learn.
  11. Conditions in Cleveland are ideal!
  12. I've been asked to start the first regular season game thread in honor of our deceased friend Mike Grace. I wish that I could say something profound. Obviously I miss him very much. We all do. Whether you believe in the afterlife or not, I am confided that if such a realm exists, Mike is up there wearing a Sox tee shirt and cap, brimming with optimism and hope for our team as the new season starts. I pity any Yankee fans in Heaven. They will get no rest!!!! Here's to a genuinely wonderful person and possibly the most chill dude I have met. GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. It's okay guys. Porcello's WAR indicates that he is worth more than The Sox paid for him. A Bargain!!!!!!!1!1!
  14. You may be right about this kind of move in general but I believe otherwise in this instance. And yes, I remember Horseface sucking here for about two years and then having surgery. He was a #1 for the Angels for several years ( if not an "Ace" ). I liked the Lackey deal from the start. Porcello is not Lackey. And may never be. I'm guessing that you are calling me on the big contract the Sox gave Lackey who dramatically under achieved at the binging of the deal. I remember Drew under performing to some extent when the Sox paid him big bucks. Eventually he earned his contract, no? Lackey and Drew had been among the better players at their positions IIRC. Porcello had not. You defended Drew then. Be consistent.
  15. In any case Castillo looks lost at the plate.
  16. Yes. That trade has been a disaster so far. I always have a hard time understanding how an accomplished hitter can just lose it all over night. He can still play decent defense both at first and corner outfield. He looks pretty decent at the plate now. It's probably too late for him here in Boston if he has turned it around. That is what I am saying.
  17. And the Sox would have still had the ability to over pay him in the off season. By signing him prematurely they prevented the bidding but took the risk of the over pay anyway. This is just poor business strategy at best. And metric have little to do with it.
  18. Yup. And while I too liked Dojji's post very much, I do not agree that he should have another chance on a MLB ball field to "shake of the rust". He has had about a year and a half to do so. Enough is enough. Send him down to Pawtucket to refine his skills if anything. He is too old to be considered a prospect but the Sox have to bite the bullet on their mistake. And while I'm at it, Graig has worked hard to get back to what he was. He may not be there, who knows? But I would be more inclined to have him on the MLB bench than Rusney at this point. The only sacrifice would be speed. Otherwise he can play 3 positions and probably hit league average. I have far more confidence in his ability to find his way back to his hitting ways than I have for Pablo or for Rusney to morph into an MLB ready starter. Unfortunately, Graig is probably gone soon.
  19. Yup. And he dropped the ball. Several times.
  20. It's a matter of integrity. Shame to say.
  21. What I was saying is that everyone ( not just Kimmi ) is reporting that he does "all the work" every day. I am not saying that his efforts are enough to lose weight and get his range and skills back. I say DFA! And I certainly know how much effort you put into remodeling your body. It's no joking matter with guys like us. This is why while I do not dislike Pablo ( I don't know him ), I do resent him. He has no excuses and no one but himself to blame for his demotion to the pine. Until it dawns on his fat ass that this is it for him, and until he makes the effort required to be IN SHAPE, he does not deserve any more "Chances".
  22. Sumo raslers are bad ass. They are very committed. And they get to eat. And... they get to drink all the beer that they can handle. All day long.
  23. More like a '52 Buick.
  24. I doubt that he will get another contract unless he loses 40-50 lbs and rakes for the next 3 years.
