    Tazawa was a work horse for the Sox. I have nothing bad to say about him.

    Both Price and Sale were healthy at the time of acquisition. Smith was not and somehow we are to believe that Thornberg screwed up directions for an off season training program and is now injured. Both of these deal are suspect at best. That is on DD.

    I'm with you on how to construct a pen. I also agree that while it is really cool to see Kimbrel dominate, it is possible and likely to get sufficient high leverage pitching from lesser types. See Koji as an example.

    Don't we have a "Farrell" thread? That would seem to be the place to discuss potential replacements in the eventuality that Farrell is canned. Seriously, Papi as manager is a cute and romantic idea and very little else. If Farrell is replaced I would like it to be by someone with coaching and managerial experience. Ortiz, to my knowledge, has neither.

    117 AB at AA is not only a small sample size, it is just small period. I keep thinking that he needs more seasoning. How much MLB or similar pitching has he faced in pro ball? I remember Francona saying it takes about 1200 MiLB AB before anyone can realistically be expected to be "ready" for a diet of MLB pitching. Devers is 20. Maybe he is the second coming of Tony Oliva, I don't know. I think that his time is best served in AA for now. If he rakes then send him up ( or down as the case is ) to Pawtucket.

    By accident I discovered the ESPN broadcast of the Skanks game tonight. Those three dufuses would not stop bag lapping Jeter. It was nauseating. This was compounded by being forced to listen to Miss Softball display her tremendous repertoire of baseball catch ( no pun intended ) phrases to dupe the masses into believing that she knows anything of which she speaks. It was almost as embarrassing as listening to Dennis Miller do color for Monday Night Football. At least the Yankees lost. The fact that Odd Job got torched was a bonus.

    And I will call him out for dressing like Tommy Heinson circa 1972. That and acquiring damaged goods in Pomeranz , Smith and Thornberg. Don't bother lecturing me about how that is not his fault. He made those deals and we have gotten almost NOTHING IN RETURN to date. I realize no one bats 100% in dealings but those are three high profile failures.

    Pablow would have to be better than the other options we have seen so far. That bar is pretty low at this point.

    I'm with you on this. If he was a serviceable #5 we could live with it. But he is not even that. We are stuck with him. Can't wait for Price to return. He looked decent in his simulated game to day. Although I have no data on his FB velo. He did look like he was hitting his spots from what I could tell.

    Yikes. Pom blows. Nice play by XB and Mererro for a two base error that will be called a double. The excitement never ends!

    Yeah if you have a TV with a spare HDMI port you can get a Chromecast for $30. and Bluetooth anything from a device or computer.
