  1. I still say Eric Wedge would be a great fit. Especially with all the young players on the 40 man.
  2. Harper has the edge in beard growth. Let's do a little impromptu survey. If you could sign one of the two for your team, which one would you take? Trout Harper I go with Mr. Chicken Teriyaki, Trout.
  3. There are no Tim Duncans in this years draft class. So I don't see how the number 1 pick can be of as much value.
  4. Dink. Have not heard that word in quite a while.
  5. I hope that we can get some decent performance out of Velazquez. Maybe he will give us reason to smile like Danial Nava did when he finally made it to the bigs. I know that it is wishful thinking but I like to believe that good things can happen once in a while.
  6. I endorse this activity.
  7. We call him "Big Dick Rick" here.
  8. Post of the year right there.
  9. Lol We three are showing our colors.
  10. On a positive note the Celts game with Cleveland starts in a few minutes.
  11. I'm sorry but what do you mean? I have never heard that expression.
  12. Oh but his UZR is so good. Lol.
  13. I'm with you, obviously, Jaybay. Keystone Cops tonight.
  14. Stellar defense tonight boys!
  15. Hasn't Leake been viewed as a 5-6 type? Pound this guy into utter submission. Humiliate these poseurs. GO SOX!!!1!!!
  16. BOOM. They should have made my offer at the end of the '13 season. Things would never had gone south if they had done so. That is my opinion, anyway. Dumb.
  17. Did the Sox extend Craig after they acquired him or was he on his current deal when they got him? It is of no consequence, really. I am just wondering exactly how stupid the deal was.
  18. I love this post. But: I have said for 3 years that the Sox should have signed Lester as soon as MLB allowed after the WS. They f***ed that up and the Homer Bailey deal skewed the market for Lester. If the Sox had done as I say, I suspect they could have had Lester back for 5/110 -5/125. Done. Not sure about Cueto. I like the guy but talk about someone who does not appear to be ready to play in Boston. This ain't Cincinnati and it ain'tKC. Plus his arm was dead or near dead at the time, I think. I have never seen, nor have I heard any definitive proof that Lackey would not return for the minimum deal that he had agreed to. That argument is weak as water ( no offense ). And of course, he did play that year for the short money in SL. In any case it's all milk over the damn at this point.
  19. Yup. He is not even the best player to come out of DeMatha. He would have to outplay Terry Rozier to become the # 4 guard on the team. Or maybe the Celts would move Rozier and others to make room for him. I doubt that. I say trade for an established impact player if possible.
  20. I don't deny that. He does seem to have a nice mid range jumper. BUT, he is skinny and weak, and plays almost nonexistent defense. His ball handling skills are adequate for the college game but how will he fare against the Marcus Smarts and Avery Bradley types? Not well at first, I would imagine. No. He is a promising player that would find limited minutes and end up playing about as much as Jalen Brown. Very few kids are ready to make the leap at his age and be an impact player in the short term. 3-4 years of NBA experience and he could be very good. Or he could become another Gerald Green. Not a franchise player.
  21. What franchise player? Neither of the two top projected picks is ready to play serious minutes in the NBA. The kid from Washington has three years of organized ball and will be 19 this month. The Celts need one or two ready to go players that can impact the team NOW.
  22. I'm with MVP on this one. To me, purging two top of the rotation pitchers like Lester and Horseface was inexplicably dumb. Yeah, both of them were getting into their 30s but both were and remain to this day very effective pitchers. Just dumb. The Miller trade shocked me almost as much as it shocked Miller himself. I saw an interview with Miller as he was leaving the park after the trade. He could not believe it. He loved it here and wanted to remain. The Sox did get a young arm that shows promise so it was not a total f***-up. Ask me how I feel about it 3-4 years from now. They could have and should have gone after Miller at the end of the season. He wanted to play in Boston. They screwed this pooch too. Dumb.
