  1. In all fairness, management has been trying to get him to focus less on having a mid 90's fastball in order to protect him from blowing out his arm in a few seasons. He used to throw mid-high 90's all the time, but the FO is encouraging him to be more cautious. I don't know when he made the change, but that would explain your statistic.
  2. Keeper, are you excited about Jimenez vs. the Padres in Petco tomorrow?
  3. If we're not making a distinction between hurt and injured, then I'd go with Drew. It's like betting with house money.
  4. Anyone want to take bets on who gets hurt in the next game?
  5. Thank you for letting me know. I would not have realised it unless you went out of your way to tell me.
  6. I was going to win WHIP, but Lester pitched the 9th inning and Dipre wins it. Which is frustrating because I lost to Suns last week in WHIP by .001.
  7. Lester pitched really well today. I might be inclined to say too well. (Dipre knows what I'm talking about)
  8. I might be the one person here that hopes a reliever finishes out the game.
  9. I'd do something like Germany Netherlands Argentina Brazil Spain Portugal I also think that Uruguay should be a team worth mentioning.
  10. I might not put them in that order, but I think that you have the right teams up there.
  11. Another bad call. First, the goal for England should have been allowed since it was at least a yard past the line, and NOW, Argentina gets a goal by being offsides by a mile. Obviously the English goal wouldn't have made a difference in the game, but it's the principle of the thing.
  12. To take your point a step further, Spain and Portugal play a round before Ghana and Uruguay play.
  13. Yeah, we're boned. I knew that England didn't have a shot against Germany. Germany was one of my choices to make it to the Finals. They certainly have the talent to do it.
  14. What's funny, is that the 3 teams that stream start are 1st, 2nd, and 4th out of the 14 teams. It might be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd if the current scores hold (which we know they won't). I wish I used that argument a few weeks ago in that other fantasy league thread.
  15. There's a difference between the MLS and national football.
  16. I've seen people get carded for similar behaviour, and I thought an extra card or two should have been handed out to Ghana for it. If it's any consolation, Ghana should get destroyed by Uruguay, much like they got pounded by Brazil immediately after beating the US in 2006.
  17. And in the 2nd minute, Ghana scores again, 2-1.
  18. 30 minutes of (non sudden death) extra time, here we go.
  19. Another great chance for the USA, Michael Bradley was alone with the ball (he looked offsides, but he was clearly onside) and shot the ball right at the keeper on the ground. If he put the ball in the air, he might have had it. Also, Kevin Prince Boateng (the goal scorer) is hurt and is subbed off, and Kevin Appiah (the guy who scored the penalty against the US in 2006) is brought in.
  20. USA!!!! Landon Donovan!!!!
  21. I think it would be a miracle if the game finished 1-0 with all the pressure that the US has put on Ghana in the 2nd half.
  22. Great start to the 2nd half for the US.
  23. Ooh. Findley should have had that. 1 on 1 vs. the goalie. He really should have buried it instead of kicking it right at the keeper. Also, they take Clark off for Maurice Edu which is a good call since Clark got an early yellow card, and was the reason why Boateng got the good shot off early. As I write this, Ghana almost makes it 2-0.
