  1. Not to mention that you already made me change my signature to advertise your damn baseball redraft.
  2. I will admit that I was wrong, but I didn't say anything about letting you change my signature. You said something about making a "choose the other person's signature" bet to see how the Red Sox 25 man roster will look (13 position players and 12 pitchers) and I declined that bet because I never said or hinted that the Red Sox would do otherwise. You just assumed that I thought the Red Sox would do something different because I said that the Red Sox could use 5 RH bats that could hit lefties instead of only 4. So I fully admit that I was wrong to doubt Theo fixing up our bullpen. Whatever problems the Red Sox team has this season, I will not blame on Theo. I may blame Tito, the players themselves, the strength and conditioning coach, trainers, and even some other fans, but as far as I'm concerned, Theo and the ownership are immune to my criticisms. For this year at least.
  3. The best thing in my opinion (other than having an awesome bullpen) is that since Dan Wheeler is already a type A FA, if he pitches reasonably well he can still be a type A FA at the end of the season (or the following season if his option vests) which means we can either resign him or flip him for picks.
  4. Looks like it's a 1 year deal for 3 million with a vesting option for 2012 if he reaches 65 appearances. Not bad at all.
  5. The Rangers have a good shot at signing Beltre too. Oh please sign in Texas Adrian. I think that Boston should slip the Rangers a few million to make sure he signs there.
  6. I'd rather the draw haha. I mean I think you're clearly going to win this anyway, so how about this. We open up the voting (without explanations) and we have people JUST say the name of the team they think is going to win. So someone will vote either "Italstallianion" or "Yankees228" and if the team that he didn't choose wants and explanation, they can ask for one. That should be quick and easy and people wouldn't need to type out long posts or get personal with this.
  7. And we don't necessarily need that LOOGY just yet. I think that Doubront will be fine to start the season and we can alter as necessary. There'll always be some lefty with a pulse available that can step in in the event that we need it.
  8. I'd rather do it for this coming year and use 2011 salaries. I think that it'd be too easy for teams to mess up the math and end up over cap. On that point, I think there should be trading and a "free agency" period shortly after the draft so that if by chance, teams are accidentally over cap, they can work to get under the cap by the time the voting started.
  9. I almost think that instead of voting, if the draft is this coming year, we can use the stats of our players from this year to speak for themselves. It'd be a lot easier to determine who "would win" if you have the actual stats to look at (for the said season instead of in the future). It'd be like a time capsule.
  10. Without a salary cap there's no real challenge. It might as well be a fantasy league. And in that case, we might as well have it on yahoo or espn instead of talksox. A regular draft for this coming season is way too easy.
  11. It would be just like a fantasy league if there wasn't a cap. The only difference would be that there's no official league.
  12. Tough few days for the Knicks, losing at home to the "rival" Celtics when they probably should have won, and then losing at home convincingly in the next game to the equally hated Miami Heat.
  13. Ok, we should try to have it completed by the time the regular season starts so we can't cheat and use their stats. Also, I recommend having an 8 hour window to make your pick with the clock stopping from midnight to 8 am.
  14. Are we doing it this coming year or a few years in the future?
  15. You should keep a running tally of which teams are doing this.
  16. Aren't you a Knicks fan? I was curious as to see who the Celtics fans would root for. I'm a Spurs fan and I'm rooting for the Knicks to stick it to LeBron. I also feel that the Knicks got shafted a bit vs. Celtics, so they can really use this game here.
  17. I can't wait for Twilight to respond to this one. The gauntlet has been thrown. It really is Edward vs. Jacob.
  18. JR Smith's dunk was nice, clearly dunk of the year potential, but I think it was (and should have been) an offensive foul. He flattens the defender (who was set), so the only thing I'm wondering is whether or not the defender was in the restricted area, which I couldn't tell, although I doubt it. I think the referee's were too busy watching JR Smith's dunk (although I can't blame them) to notice the clear charge. Then again, one can argue that Blake Griffin's dunk of the year candidate on Danilo Gallinari could have also been an offensive foul since he pushes off with his other hand while in the air.
  19. Who are you guys rooting for tonight, Knicks or Heat?
  20. I mean I think I'd have to ok it with Y228 first. I don't want to insult him or anyone else for putting up a fight to get to the finals and then bowing out once I got there. I just think that this has run it's course and almost everyone is tired of it. I honestly really don't care anymore.
  21. It's a shame because I wanted him to reach 200 wins before he retired.
  22. At this point, I'm ok with Y228 having the title. First off, I think he's going to win anyway, so it's not like I'm "giving" him anything, but I'm also mentally drained and tired and checked out of this thing. I think it's had its run, and now we can start the other baseball one anyway!! I just don't think it's worth the amount of effort I put into the previous 2 round explanations/strategies/gameplans when I think that Y228 is going to win anyway. That said, I would pay to see the top offense and the top defense face each other.
  23. Yeah, I was almost certain that we weren't going to get Fuentes. I really liked him but I figured he'd cost too much. I agree on Bill Hall though, congrats on the starting job, even if it is with the Astros.
