  1. There is trading, but NOT during the baseball season. The trading period will be from between when the draft ends, to when the regular season starts. After the regular season starts the rosters will be locked. Maybe there can be an add/drop due to a serious injury, but there'd be no trades at that point.
  2. Ok, so for now we're going to make a draft order of 14 teams, we will pencil in RSFFL for YH, and in the event that YH wants to participate and RSFFL doesn't, then YH can have RSFFL's draft slot, and if they don't want to particpate, we can delete their slot entirely (and the rest of the people move up) and if they both do want to participate, we can add YH to the back end of the draft. Keep in mind that you guys can trade players and draft slots, so if I get the first pick, and Dipre ends up in the middle, as long as we BOTH say that we want to switch spots, then Dipre can get the first slot and I'll pick in his former spot. Keep that in mind so you don't have to pick where Dipre draws your slot.
  3. Let us know so that we can make the order before the draft starts.
  4. Sweet, that'll put us at 14 teams, that's more than enough to start. Dipre will set the draft order.
  5. Yeah this is different, I haven't seen SFOC in a redraft, so you don't have to worry about him bullying you. I can't blame you for avoiding a fantasy league with him, I'd do it too.
  6. You'd be using 2010 base salaries. So ignore AAV, signing bonuses, incentives etc. We'll be checking all of the salary figures to make sure that teams are under cap. Different people use different requirements for voting, which I'll admit has led to some friction, but this redraft is special because it's for the upcoming season, so we can see what the live stats are and use that directly in the voting. Some people use stats like WAR, others use OPS+, UZR/150, Pfx/Fxp (I can't remember that acronym) and others just look at talent. You can choose how you vote, but there are some guidelines, it's who you think would win the matchup between the two teams at hand, attached with a detailed explanation as to why you think that particular team would win.
  7. I respect that, although I highly doubt you'd get banned for anything you've done to this point. You've been well behaved. There are only a few people that have gotten too into this, (I'll admit that at one point or another I've been one of them) and I think you're fine. You're obviously free to do what you wish, but I'd love to have you here. You make your picks on time and you actually vote. That's my opinion at least.
  8. People would be able to build teams in any way they want. Granted, you'd need 12 pitchers and 13 batters, but you can use your bench in any way you see fit, and you can draft any type of pitchers you think would best create a team. Just keep in mind that we're using 2010 salary numbers for the 2011 rosters, so make sure that you're under the salary cap.
  9. Ok guys, I'm going to make a list of all of the people that (I think) are playing. If your name isn't on the list, you're more than welcome to participate in the redraft (we're starting Monday morning) and if you're on the list and no longer want to participate or won't be available for a while to make your picks, let us know. Here's where we're at thus far. Myself Dipre Y228 Keeper Yankshater Jbay WhiskeyBreath Ytrb Divinity A700 SoxfanForsyth JacobyEllsbury Flynnatic I believe that puts us at 13 teams. I know that RSFFL was in this thread a lot but didn't say that he for sure wanted to play. You're good at making your picks in a timely fashion and we'd love to have you. I'd prefer to have an even amount of teams.
  10. On another note, if we ever need another team, we can always draft Dojji a team for him. I bet his first pick would be Jed Lowrie.
  11. Maybe that's a sign of something.... All joking aside, other than a few minutes earlier today where I had trouble refreshing posts, it's been fine over here.
  12. You guys can build the benches however you want. If someone picked a catcher early (Joe Mauer for example) they can use their next pick on Brian Mccann if they wanted. I wouldn't say that it'd be wise, but you can do it. You guys can build a bench however you want (the positions don't have to be a certain way) and you can put players in whatever positions you want. For example, I can use my bench to use a backup catcher, and 3 OF's, while you might use a backup catcher, an infielder, outfielder, and the best player available. The only thing I would like to see is everyone have the same amount of pitchers and hitters (ie 12 pitchers and 13 batters) From there, you'd probably have 5 starters and 7 spots in the bullpen, but you can build the bullpen anyway you want, lefties, closers, set up men, whatever. Just keep in mind that you'll end up picking a closer out of the group. The DH's don't have to be DH in real life. Going back to the first example, you can have Mauer and Mccann on your team, and you can use either as your starting DH or your backup catcher. In fact, I ENCOURAGE you to build the best team you can. You can have all starters on your team and use them in bench roles.
  13. I bet if it was Jacko instead of YOTN that he'd still be here.
  14. Erin Andrews in riding the Italian Stallion.
  15. I bet that Iverson would be hard to tackle. He's like Woodhead, except black, which directly means that he's faster.
  16. RSFFL, there was a smiley face there for a reason.
  17. Ray Lewis ultimate fighting
  18. Brian Scalabrine can do everything...
  19. Well Terrell Owens can play basketball, and Todd Helton used to QB for Tennessee in college so that's a start.
  20. Then there's the few that played other sports in school. Like Terrell Owens playing basketball and Todd Helton being the QB at Tennessee before Peyton Manning.
  21. I wonder how many people we have thus far. Hopefully we can add a few more teams before this thing starts.
  22. In addition to being able to trade players to free up cap room (after the draft is completed), I believe that we should be able to trade draft spots. What I mean by this is that when Dipre does the random draft order, and say I get the 1st pick and Dipre ends up somewhere in the middle, if we both agree to switch, that we should be able to change spots in the draft order, which will go into effect for every round. So Dipre would get the first pick one round and the last pick the next round, whereas I would be in the middle both times. This is my opinion, so it's not put into stone, I just thought it would be a good idea. Anyway I'll create the draft thread (and clubhouse thread) on Sunday and Dipre will figure out the order at that point and the draft will begin on Monday morning. I could use assistance creating the chart on my thread page, but I should have no problem updating it. Oh, and anyone who drafts Brian Scalabrine will automatically win.
  23. I don't know, I find women's college basketball a lot more exciting than the WNBA.
