  1. Look, if one is going to make a mistake, I'd rather sign a good reliever for too long than to not sign a good reliever and start the season with a s***** bullpen. Unless that you can prove that the particular relievers are going to become sunk costs, then I don't buy your logic. Until I wake up in the morning and see that we signed a reliever worth mentioning, then I'm going to continue to be pissed. Many of you are acting as if I'm jumping the gun or reacting too early, but will you all think the same way after Fuentes and Soriano sign with other teams?
  2. And I'd rather overpay and get a good reliever than to save a little money and have a s***** bullpen.
  3. My point is, good relievers are progressively going off the market daily while we NEED 1-2 good relievers and we're not signing them, but instead, are signing garbage like Matt Albers and Lenny DiNardo. Sure, we should be more pissed off if we wake up and even more good relievers are off the market, but I hope to God that it doesn't come to that. The point is, and I don't think anyone can deny it, is that we need to f***** do something before all of the good relievers are gone.
  4. That was a great game. The only thing that could have made it better was if Ray Allen made the choking gesture at Spike Lee that Reggie Miller used to do back in the day.
  5. And Amare with the 3 at the buzzer (after the buzzer) I didn't think that Amare could make a 3 let alone at (albeit after) the buzzer.
  6. Paul Pierce with the swagger shot. He justified ripping on the Knicks earlier.
  7. In all fairness, some of those relievers had almost always been bad. There's a difference between Brian Fuentes and Kyle Farnsworth. I mean Fuentes can't fight for f**** sake.
  8. That doesn't sound like my style. I would be just as pissed as the people that I was "supposedly" telling to calm down. I highly doubt that you're thinking of me.
  9. And considering that they had one going into the offseason and haven't done anything about it, odds are that you'd be correct.
  10. Yeah, Matt Albers and Lenny DiNardo aren't exactly helping.
  11. I was hoping for Fuentes/Crain, but I'd settle for just Fuentes. Heck, even Fuentes/Delcarmen might give us enough money to get Darnell McDonald as our RH bat off the bench. And for the record, I have every right to be pissed. Early or not, we're letting Guerrier/Crain go and signing Fat Albers and Lenny DiNardo. That's like letting Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman go in order to f*** Rosie O'Donnell.
  12. The Yankees are definitely getting one of those lefties. I say we sign 2 of those relievers (one righty, one lefty) and take the rest of the offseason off. We got Crawford and Gonzalez by being proactive and now we're sitting on our a**** while other teams are signing the good relievers while we're looking at garbage. Our bullpen was one of the most important needs going into the offseason and we haven't done much (good) towards fixing it.
  13. I don't want to have to wait until the deadline to fix a s**** bullpen. We should at least start the year with a good bullpen and use the trade deadline to make it better. If we start the season with a s***** bullpen then we'd be openly losing games that would be tough to make up later, especially as other teams are the ones signing the good relievers. Originally I wanted to go into the offseason and sign 3 good relievers to fix our pen. Then when Downs signed, I figured that we'd do fine with 2 good relievers. Now, I'm just praying to god that we get one good reliever with the money we have. Other teams signing the good relievers while we're signing Fat Albers and Lenny DiNardo makes Italstallianion go crazy.
  14. I hope that Theo didn't think that Crawford and Gonzalez were all that we needed for this offseason. We might actually find a way to make our bullpen worse than it was last year.
  15. Yeah, if that's all we get in the RP market, I'm going to be as angry as I was happy when we got Adrian Gonzalez.
  16. So Lenny DiNardo and Matt Albers? ZZZZZ
  17. Wow, you could hear the "Boston Sucks" chant in the background.
  18. I think his career BAA vs. lefties is .291 while it's .228 vs. righties. His WHIP is 1.69 vs. lefties and 1.16 vs. righties. He's also walked 108 lefties in 199.2 innings vs. only 65 righties in 198 innings. He's also had more career IP against lefties, which I find interesting.
  19. I doubt that Masterson could get little league left handers out.
  20. The Red Sox had offered Guerrier a 2 year deal, but the Dodgers offered him a 3 year deal so Guerrier took it. The Red Sox are looking at Crain, Fuentes, and Wheeler. MLBTR also reports that Joe Smith, Rafael Perez, and Justin Masterson could all be on Boston's radar. Nick Carfado reports that the A's and Mariners are listening to offers for their relievers.
  21. If we get Fuentes and Wheeler I think we can have a pretty good bullpen and stay under the luxury tax.
  22. The Red Sox are having discussions with RHP Dan Wheeler.
  23. I agree, and the only 4 people left in this thing can vote in only one semifinal (since their team is in the other semifinal)
  24. I'm sure people said the same thing about Varitek with his divorce a few seasons ago.
