  1. In addition, another thing to be concerned about is that arbitration isn't going to take place for a while, so a lot of players under team control won't have final numbers issued for a while. Should we just use 2010 salaries since they are all in the open?
  2. I think that we'd be near ready to go. I'd love to have a few more teams, but the only thing I'd be worried about is the few FA's that haven't signed yet, since we won't know how much they cost towards the luxury tax. Did we determine a final salary cap?
  3. I think we're just doing salaries for this coming season 2011, since we'd be building a team for 2011.
  4. I assume that we're just going to use 2011 salaries?
  5. Someone that hated the Steelers.
  6. Anna's is amazing. Pretty much anything on the menu is well made and worth the money.
  7. Haha yeah, there's like 10 times the traffic during gamethreads. Although in all fairness, most of the gamethread is reactionary posts.
  8. Now that we have our first banned user at talkpats, we can have our first user that gets banned and comes back to shoot up the office. I'm going to edit my user settings over there immediately in case it was Nate Grey that made it over to talkpats.
  9. Although for the record, I liked Dutchy. But that's besides the point, welcome dude, I like your style and I think you'll do well here.
  10. I'm not going to defend Papelbon's season last year, but there's a big difference between losses that a closer faces and losses that a starter faces. Closers enter the game when their team is ahead by a few runs, so the only realistic way for them to get a win is for them to blow the lead, and have their offense give them the win. In addition, since they are closers, they enter the game at the end, which unlike starters, doesn't really give the offense time to recover in the event that the closer has trouble. I'm not saying Papelbon did well, but losses on a closer are misleading since they enter the game with a short lead late in the game.
  11. The same thing happened to us with Saito. He was a type A but we couldn't offer him arbitration due to his contract and pick up the draft picks, which in all fairness, would have been a 2nd rounder and a supplemental from the Braves anyway. (Since we got their first rounder for signing Wagner)
  12. I'm not sure what the best thread for this is, but to clear up some confusion about Dan Wheeler, in his contract it states that if Dan Wheeler retains his Type A free agent status, then we cannot offer him arbitration. However, if he falls to a Type B free agent, we can offer him arbitration and he has to decline it. So at worst, we should be able to recover a decent draft pick if this signing doesn't work out, and we didn't sign him for much anyway, so we have very little to lose. Not to mention the fact that with Crawford and Ellsbury in the OF, a lot of the flyballs that Wheeler gives up should turn into outs.
  13. When Dipre establishes the draft order, keep an eye on when your pick is and whose turn it is. You should check periodically to where the draft is so you can guess when your turn will come. In the event that you're going to be out you should message your pick to someone that's going to be online.
  14. You'd have to be active for a while though and make your draft picks whenever they come up. A few bad links can suffocate the draft speed.
  15. Fair enough.
  16. I'd try to get at least 15. I really want some of the people who hadn't been in redrafts recently to join to mix it up a bit.
  17. Considering that Dipre is running the draft, I don't think we have to worry about him participating in the draft.
  18. Could you imagine if example joined this thing too? This draft would be stacked. We'd need to get Jacko to join too so we can establish some bottom feeders.
  19. Good luck with that. I'd bet on ORS if we did this thing. Then again some of the regulars here might have an advantage.
  20. A700hitter said he's ready to kick some ass in this thing.
  21. Yeah dude, RSFFL didn't have anything to do with this.
