  1. Haha it's almost as if you're letting a big cat out of the bag....haha
  2. I bet that LeBron wouldn't do that...haha.
  3. Haha while I was working with the RockCats over the summer, I was a few rows away from Brackman, Betances, and Banuelos in the stands. I ended up getting their autographs and sending them to a Yankee fan friend of mine. If I were a Yankee fan I'd probably have been excited. Oh well, at least I got Casey Kelly's autograph before the trade.
  4. I'm rooting for the Knicks, but I'd bet on the Heat winning.
  5. Depends on whether or not Harper can catch.
  6. Go Spurs Go
  7. Dipre basically wants everyone to update their own stats. He isn't against a spreadsheet, but he wants to keep everyone involved and interested, and it'll give everyone a chance to defend their team and provide perspective that wasn't there for these power rankings. Maybe we can compile stats in the clubhouse thread or something, but each person should be responsible for highlighting their own stats. This of course, will be in addition to the write up explaining their thought process and why they have a good team.
  8. I think that's correct. It'll be hard not to factor in past success, especially for abnormally hot/cold months, but I think we'd just include the first month. But for the following months we'd keep doing the season up to date. Similarly, when you use the stats, you'd explain your gameplan and set your lineups accordingly. I haven't spoken with Dipre about it, but if he feels differently I'm sure he will say something.
  9. The bottom of your list said "NFL Titles" and Cleveland still had an 8 next to it, when it should only have a 4 next to it. And if the list was "Super Bowl Titles" the Browns would have a 0 next to it.
  10. In addition, all 4 NFL Championships that the Browns have are before the Super Bowl Era.
  11. The Browns only have 4 NFL Championships (1950, 1954, 1955, and 1964) as the other 4 are AAFC Championships (1946, 1947, 1948, and 1949)
  12. Don't forget that the Yankees have Bartolo Colon and Mark Prior.
  13. Isn't San Diego's last title in 1963 with the Chargers (albeit with one less sports francise)
  14. While I would love to stick it to Cleveland, I wouldn't hope that the Heat win the title. I'd be happy if both teams went 0-82.
  15. Don't they have a really tough schedule coming up. I'd hate to be the next team that loses to Cleveland and breaks the streak.
  16. I like the idea of Forsyth's idea. I mean I like the concept but not necessarily the implementation of the idea itself. I really don't care though. I think that the basis will be covered when everyone writes up an explanation defending their team.
  17. Interestingly enough, I think that Cleveland also has that record, losing 24 consecutive games from the end of the 1981-1982 and the beginning of the 1982-1983 season. The record for most consecutive games lost all in one season is 23, shared by Vancouver in 1996 and Denver in 1997-1998.
  18. I've spoken with Dipre about it and he certainly doesn't like it. I don't mind it, but he is strongly against it. I'm sure he'll be on at some point to specifically talk about why he doesn't like it.
  19. I blame it on being in the city of Cleveland.
  20. I don't know, with the way that Brian Cashman can add blowjobs to virtually any trade, I wouldn't be surprised if the Yankees can swindle any starter from any team.
  21. I generally agree with this. In other words, when it comes down to the voting (and we might make an exception for the final power rankings since they will count towards the voting matchups) each team will be able to defend their own team and explain why they have a really good team. In that write up, I'm sure people will use those stats. In addition, people will be able to decide the roles of their players based on the stats. For example, if Jim Thome does really well vs. RHP and horrible vs. LHP, I might decide to platoon him based on the stats. On that note, the teams would have to be clear about each players intended usage, so mark your platoon players, defensive replacements, pinch runners, lineups vs. lefties and righties etc.
  22. Yeah, it was interesting that 8 different teams got first place votes yet every single team got at least one bottom 5 vote. Although you and Ytrb got the benefit of the doubt since the lowest vote either of you received was 10th, whereas others had it worse.
