  1. Lol, my eyes did light up reading the thread title. Maybe we should have given the poster a chance.
  2. Am I the only one that keeps thinking "Alex Gonzalez" whenever he sees this thread?
  3. They could use Scalabrine.
  4. An interesting stat, Bosh, Wade, and LeBron are a combined 1-18 shooting when their team is down by 3 points or less in the final 10 seconds of games.
  5. Yeah, I stopped watching. Oh well, can't beat a good team like the Lakers everytime. Now our schedule looks to get a bit easier with Detroit and Sacramento coming up.
  6. Well for me, the Spurs and the Celtics are my two favourite NBA teams, so that'd be my ideal finals. Plus it would guarantee that either one would win, and it would guarantee that the Heat and the Lakers won't win. That's pretty much all I can ask for from the NBA.
  7. I don't see it. Maybe if Mike D'Antoni and Amare Stoudemire were still there, and even then I wouldn't bet on it. The Spurs have a great record vs. the Suns in the playoffs, and the Suns lose to the Spurs in the playoffs as often as the Spurs lose to the Lakers. There are a few teams I'm worried about in the playoffs, mainly the Lakers and to a lesser extent the Mavericks, but I'm not worried about the Suns.
  8. I'll still take it.
  9. As a Spurs fan, I honestly think that the Celtics would be better off facing the Spurs in the finals, even if they don't have home court advantage, than to have them face the Lakers in the finals with home court advantage.
  10. And they have the Lakers 2 games from now. They need to figure things out and fast.
  11. At least they let the player cut part of the netting down when BYU clinched the MWC title.
  12. I'm thinking more of a priorities check.
  13. Just curious, what was the Heat's 1 win vs. a top team?
  14. They're still a team? lol
  15. Either way, it'll be an interesting NBA playoffs and someone is bound to be amused.
  16. Spurs win and Heat lose, in the same game! Thank you Jesus. That'll stick to a few of my Heat fan friends that were making cocky facebook statuses prior to the game and are nowhere to be found now.
  17. I agree that Alexei Ramirez is better than Marco Scutaro. Granted, I wasn't the one arguing against you on that point, but my point is that in order for Marco Scutaro to be "below average" in all phases of the game, then at least half of the SS's out there would have to be better than him in every facet of the game, and I don't think that's true. And I definitely think that Jose Reyes is better than Marco Scutaro as well, but that doesn't mean that Scutaro is worse than at least half of the weak SS crowd, and nor does that mean that the Red Sox need to get him. or that it would be a greater benefit to the Red Sox team to have Reyes than the cost it would take to acquire him, depending on what those costs might be.
  18. And you'd imagine that for Scutaro to be "below average" in all facets of the game, that you'd have a few shortstops that are clearly better than him.
  19. I wouldn't be surprised if Reyes is better than any of the options. In fact, I predict that Reyes will be better than any of those players, especially in the near future. But that doesn't mean that the Red Sox should go out and get him. To be honest, without knowing how much Reyes will cost in terms of money, prospects, and future money (if we're talking an extension), and without knowing any rumours that would lead one to believe that Theo and company are in talks about Reyes, are looking to get Reyes, or are even considering Reyes, then we can't really argue one way or another what we should do. We might as well be saying that the Red Sox should get Pujols or Lee or anyone that makes the team better.
  20. I just saw the highlights, incredible. Although if you could shoot 3's like the Magic can, not too many teams could defend that.
  21. I doubt that they count for his "American" HOF status. I mean his lack of years will certainly count in his favour when looking at his raw numbers, but I doubt that his Japanese numbers will carry over. They might get considered, but it won't carry as much weight as his American numbers. I highly doubt that his averages (rather than counting numbers) from Japan get considered.
  22. In addition, if Ichiro started his career in the US, or at least came over earlier, he'd be a lock for the HOF.
  23. Looks like God heard you Ytrb when you said that you had the best pitching rotation in our redraft league when Wainwright got injured.
