4 games in and he is now approaching ace-like status? LOLOLOL! Typical nonsensical, blowhard, Yankee trash.
Hughes is going to get lit-up.. He is not close to an ace.. He has pitched well against the dregs of the AL.. He won't last 7 tonight.. I expect him to get run before the 6th inning. Clay has much better stuff than Hughes and it will show this weekend.
Hughes has pitched against these PITIFUL offenses...Using runs-scored as the metric... These are the MLB rankings for the teams Baby Hughzey has faced
White Sox #24
Baltimore #27
OAK #17
LAA #23
**Not one team in the top-half in runs scored.
Clay has pitched against....
TAM #1 (5 IP 0 ER, 7 K's)
TOR #9 (8 IP, 1 ER)
TEX #12 (6.2 IP, 3 ER, 10 K's)
KC #19
LAA #23
The reason I brought this up is because a Yankee fan was trying to tell me how much better Hughes was than Buchholz and he was citing Hughes's superior ERA and WHIP. This is due in large part to the teams he has faced. The Yankees wanted to get his confidence up going into Fenway. Anybody who knows anything about baseball knows Clay Buchholz has better stuff than Hughes.. Not only does he throw harder, but his curve and change-up are so much better it is not even debateable. This myopic Yankee fan pretty much sums up most of the Yankee fanbase I have come in contact with....they are morons. They are similar to fans on here who cite Adrian Gonzalez's high .800 lifetime OPS as a reason he is not better than Ryan Howard--totally ignoring Park Factors.
This weekend I fully expect Clay to out-pitch Hughes...though they are not opposing each other. The Yankees and their fans will have no excuses.... Clay will be facing a much tougher lineup..and will succeed. Hughes will be facing 5 or 6 good hitters and get rocked.
