    Still waiting for that myopic ninny JacksonianMarch to accept my challenge.. Should I just assume he is a twat? I understand this is a safe assumption...but the bet is still there. Sox make it farther than the Yankees (which they will) Jax leaves this site forever and Mods delete his screenname and ban his IP if they like. If I lose...I am gone.

    Tek's bat is soooo slow. He cannot touch a fastball thrown above his knees 92 MPH or higher. He is basically an automatic out when facing above average pitching...unless they make horrific mistakes. Color me disappointed if we go into Spring Training with the CORPSE of Jason Varitek as our starting catcher... On the bright-side, he handles the staff well and with no Lugo...he will be the only weak spot in the lineup.

    I think you meant fool-ISH. That is the most moronic trade I have ever seen proposed. You are a fuggin dipshit. For one..Ellsbury and Masterson are BOTH Better than Montero... Secondly, Byrnes hideously tore apart both hammies last year and is grossly overpaid...his contract is an albatross. If Theo takes him..he would be asking for Montero and only giving a couple of B-Level prospects.. Byrnes and Montero are both ANTI Theo players.. both display the patience of a 16 year old male virgin taking the tugboat to tuna-town for the first time... They are both hackers. Was your trade proposal a joke...or are you really that stupid?

    I bet Theo would. I would also bet Teagarden has a MUCH better chance at being an All-Star this year and next-- than Clay. Please do not make the mistake of yoking the Texas catchers into an "equally talented" triumverate. Teagarden is FAR AND AWAY the best of that bunch. He has more power, better plate discipline, and better contact skills than either Salty or Max and it really isn't close. He is also a better defensive catcher than Salty.. Max is pretty good behind the dish. I think too many Boston fans know too little about Teagarden. He is ready to possibly be one of the top 5 offensive catchers in baseball this year--helped some by the launching pad in Arlington. Go look at his minor league stats along with his small sample in the Majors...they are ridiculous. That being said..I can see where you are coming from Coco's D... I would like to get Salty without giving up Clay and HOPE he turns into close to what I know Teagarden will be.. If this happens, the Sox will have pullled off a major coup. I do like the fact that Salty is 2 years younger and a switchie.

    SOSH hinting a Saltamacchia for Bowden and Bard is imminent. I would much rather have Teagarden as he is better than Salty in all areas but at least it doesn't cost us Clay... BTW, I would trade Clay for Teagarden in a heartbeat... From what I can gather, Teagarden is untouchable. Looks like the 2009 Sox are taking shape. Thanks for your service Tek. It would not surprise me at all if TB signs Tek to back up Navarro and work with their young staff...Maddon is a BIG fan of Varitek.

    I am done talking sense with Jax.. He will still insist the Yankees pen is deeper and better than the Sox. I would be willing to bet that I have more high-level baseball experience than most, if not everyone on on this site. I often find that empirical evidence does nothing for Yankee fans because they truly believe any player they sign is automatically given the benefit of the doubt over an equally talented player-- simply because they are donning pinstripes. I find myself sinking into a fanboyish tit-for-tat with them because it is the only way they know how to debate baseball... My digression is even troubling for me...I like using facts...but why give pearls to pigs?

    I love f***ing with this simpleton. You can bring all the stats you want. I could show him that half his team is seriously disgressing-- I could bring a myriad of scatter-graphs and empirical evidence and it wouldn't matter... Yankee fans think that Yankee mystique will carry them to the promise land. You would think the last near decade of obscene overspending while winning nothing would have clued him in to the fact that the Yankees are just another team. The Red Sox are much more efficient in everything they do. They have a better farm... They make better use of their money..... And they have 2 World Championships since the last Yankee title... Get over it Jax...the Red Sox are the class of MLB.

    The Yankees are litterred with playoff chokers and has-beens...King Choker being A-rod. CC is a playoff choker...Cano-choker... Wang-Choker. Jeter-has been. Matsui--has been. Posada--Has been. The Red Sox are full of champions. The Red Sox will win the division this year...and the World Series.. Big News will be coming very soon.

    Yes, I will definitely say that a bullpen of Papelbon, Masterson, Okajima, Ramirez, MDC, and Lopez is better than Rivera, Marte, and whomever the Yankees choose to fill out the remaining slots.. That bullpen may be the best in baseball.

    CC/Burnett/Wang/Joba/? vs. Beckett/Lester/Dice-K/Penny/? pretty close......I would then give an edge to Boston in the bullpen and lineup. The Yankees are not as good as the $400 mill they spent would lead you to believe. Jeter .306/.369/.408 (will be 35 in June and his OPS took a horrific hit finishing at .771). Cano .271/.305/.410 (Lugo-esque numbers and atrcocious in the field). *Jeter and Cano are probably the worst defensive SS/2B combom in the bigs...no range up the middle. Posada .268/.364/.411 (sure he was hurt, but father time has taken his toll, he is a shadow of his former self). Gardener .582 OPS in 127 AB's...who cares how fast he is, he is an abyssmal hitter. AROD-STUD TEX- STUD Matsui 35 and career low .795 OPS in 2008 Damon excellent leadoff hitter, will be terrible in LF for Yankees though..his range has diminshed and everyone knows about his sissy-bitch arm. Nady Had a career year; but in 228 AB's for the Yankees, he compiled a .794 OPS... Kinda pedestrian for a RF'er. The Red Sox will be just fine.

    So you are convinced that Lowell will be the player he was in 2007? An aging Lowell coming off MAJOR surgery. I am convinced that the difference between Berkman and Lowell, offensively, will be monumental. I see what you are saying but who says they cannot trade for Berkman and one of the Texas catchers? Frankly I would be happy with either Martinez or Berkman.

    While I agree Martinez may be the best offensive catcher in baseball, a switch-hitting catcher at that..... He is an absolutely horrific catcher and they have tried to make him a 1st baseman...Problem is, he sucks at 1st as well. If the Red Sox are going after a hitter...let's go get Berkman. His swing is tailor-made to pepper the monster from the left side. Let's not give up our can't miss prospects for a DH. Berkman can even play LF in a pinch. Count me in on adding Berkman to the lineup, provided Lester is not in the package.

    I guess you missed when I said.."In no particular order"..I even made a joke about it...sheez. Anyhow, Grienke has 3 plus pitches. 95-97 Fastball(much harder than Hamels 91-92). Greinke also has a nasty 12-to-6 curve..better than Coles. Greinke also has a very nice changeup...nowhere near as god as Cole's. How you would LOL, as you so eloquently put it, is beyond me. Grienke has a wider array of piches...and overall, I would say "stuff-wise", he is right there with Hamels-- although Hamels is the better pitcher at this juncture.

    Let me be the first to offer Mr. Henry my services in driving Clay, Bowden, Ellsbury, and Bard to Miami.... with the sole provision being, Hanley comes back to Boston with me! I find it very hard to believe the Marlins would part with Hanley.....though they would be getting 2/3rds of the mid-upper end of their rotation and their closer, and CF for the next 10 years. Ellsbury and Clay have All-Star potential and I wouldn't sleep on Bard either...if he can ever harness his stuff...he will be one of the best closers in the game.

    First of all McCann is a MUCH better hitter and catcher than Jorge..please son. Mauer is an even better defender than McCann..Mauer is an elite defender with a great arm and quick release. Mauer is better now than Jorge has ever been offensively.. He is a much more polished hitter and once he discovers his power stroke, you wil be embarrassed you even put Mauer in the same sentence as Jorge... Myopic Yankee fans never cease to amaze me with their unabashed Yankee--scrotal-lapping.
