  1. let's wait for the final deal douchebag...And I said 10-12 over 2 years... Can you read sport? Honestly, making you look the court jester is ridiculously easy.. You are a grade-A simpleton..a morphodite of the highest accord. Just stop posting...please.. do us all a favor.
  2. Sounds very close to the deal I put up..
  3. So Navarro is a better game-caller and has more knowledge of setting hitters up in and out than Jason Varitek>? OK..we now know you know nothing. So what if Navarro is decent....what would it hurt if they had Tek and Navarro? I am quite certain Varitek can offer more to the young pitchers than Navarro can...even if most of his help came in the bullpen or from the bench in a supporting role. Man, some of you really have no f***ing clue how baseball works do you?
  4. I would be MOST concerned if Tek signed with Tampa...That young staff doesn't need anymore help.. Tek would be a perfect fit there. I think the Yankees could really help their young guys by adding Tek as well...plus, it would be another nice jab at the Sox.
  5. And how were Lowe's stats and post-season perfromances last year sport? Pretty damn solid huh?
  6. Lowe sucks huh...check this out.. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NYA/NYA200410200.shtml I guess he was pretty good that night.. aye sport?
  7. Scanning some other Sox boards it is being reported that Tek's divorce is just being finalized this week... This would make some sense as I am sure Tek would rather sign his new contract after the divorce is completely finalized. I am not hip to Georgia's divorce laws but one would think she may have some claim to a good portion of any contract signed before the divorce is finalized. That being said I think it is blatantly obvious the Sox need Tek and he needs them. I expect him to sign a 1 year $7 mill contract with a club option for year 2 that would push the deal to around $12 mill.. I would also not be surprised to see 2 years/$12 mill.
  8. Most of m My distaste for Yankee fans stems from the Pre-2004 Yankee fan arrogance. You would think that after 2004 and 2007 Yankee fans would be a bit more humble.. This is not the case.. Most Yankee fans still believe they are a tier above every other team and fanbase and no amount of World Series titles and/or empirical evidence will sway their opinion that they are the elite franchise...even if they sit home watching the Sox in October.. There is always an excuse.. This year it was Wang going down. Just once I would like to hear a Yankee fan say.."The Red Sox are just flat-out better". BTW, nobody was as banged up as the Red Sox down the stretch.
  9. Through 106 IP in the Major Leagues, Wonderboy Hughes has been horrific. He has shown nothing of his dazzling minor league stuff in the bigs. Perhaps, just perhaps he is just a tad overrated? I don't know how anyone can be sure Hughes will be a TREMENDOUS starter when all indications, so far, point to Hughes not being able to get Major League hitters out on consistent basis...much like Clay Buchholz. As an aside..Clay has better stuff.
  10. Well..we agree on something..
  11. Sons of Sam Horn... They are the self-proclaimed KING of Red Sox message boards. The moderators average 350 lbs.. most are morbidly obese and they take their angst out on posters who mis-place commas, forget a period, or actually try to explain the game without using a montage of scatter-graphs and a 25 page manuscript depicting the hitting tendencies of Julio Lugo. I would rather just say he f***ing sucks and save the time of putting together all of that info for something that is blatantly obvious to anyone who has watched him play.
  12. Good point man. I didn't mean to dis this site...I actually prefer this setup over SoSH's.. I definitely prefer the crowd here. Look, when I start crap with Yankee fans..I am laughing as I type.. There is no malice meant by me.. I argue, shoot a little smack and it is all in good fun for me. I actually was cracking up during one of my spats with JAX..it was hilarious.. We both got some funny shots in.. Don't get me wrong, my opinions of Yankee fans and their delusional view of their team is legit... my hate for them is not.. I actually enjoy having Yankee fans at this site.. it will make this season much more enjoyable when the Yankees inevitably fail..again.
  13. Yeah..well SOSH is pretty much a bunch of elitist pigs..like I said. You get banned for saying things MODS don't agree with or don't deem "worthy" of MAIN BOARD material. To say the MODS and posters at SOSH have over-inflated egos is a colossal understatement. Having played and scouted professionally, I just couldn't take people who have never played the game past little league telling me the finer points of the game I love.. So, I told them exactly what I thought of them--knowing full well I would be banned. I came over here on recommendation from another former SoSH'er....He said the MODS let you say what you want.."within reason".. I feel everything I have said here is "within reason".
  14. Long tenured members? Is that supposed to mean something>? Just because you shat 5,000 hideous posts onto a message board means you are worthy of some sort of preferential treatment? What the hell are you doing on a Red Sox message board? Have you been disowned by even the filth of all fandom...Yankee fans? I see many of you bragging about having more time here..who cares? I had 2K posts at SOSH before being banned for calling one of their mods a fat, elitist pig. He was.. It is MUCH harder to get a membership and STAY there. They ban you for putting up incorrect statistics so please spare me the "I am a LONG tenured member at SoxTalk".. I am quite confident I have more baseball knowledge than anyone on this site. You can save the haughty attitude. And again...your screen name is deceiving since you barely saw any of the titles and are bragging about teams you knew nothing about.
  15. Ohhh Ohhh Ohhh! Where can I get one? You really do have a delusional view of yourself. The JM seal of approval or disapproval carries about as much weight as a Richard Simmons seal of heterosexuality.
  16. Why don't you change your screen name to 4 to 2... Or better yet, 1 to 2 as you were 11 in 2000.. That is the probably the only title you can remember..sport. You sound like a bandwagonning-ninny. You took the 1st team that was winning or had the most championships when you became a fan of baseball...like most Yankee fans.
  17. And neither is Burnett..DURABLE that is. I love how you fixate on the Red Sox deficiencies while ignoring your own. You just paid $80 mill^ for a guy who misses plenty of starts AND seems to only perform when he is pitching for his contract....which he just got! Good luck with Burnett...he is a DOG. Who is your 5th starter anyhow? You don't have one...and your minor league starters suck. Speaking of someone exceeding their limits... Chamberlain pitchded 100 very strong innings last year... Are you sure he can give you 200+??? And what about your bullpen? Marte proved to be a worthless choker in the 2 months he spent in the putrid pinstripes. Rivera, Bruney, Coke(extremely small sample size) and pray for rain I guess? Sure seems like you should be more concerned with the Yankees HOLES than the Red Sox 6th, 7th, and 8th options you f***ing tool.
  18. Who says the critical play cannot happen early in a game? There is a reason Dunn is not a Sox right now... and it ain't the money.
  19. I am glad to get more than a rosin bag and some nice maple bats for Aardsma. He is a 1 month pitcher...If he is not hitting 97, he is meat. I also like the Pauley transaction. I could never understand how he produced such stellar stats in AAA. He will never be more than a #5 and for the Sox..probably nothing more than an 8.
  20. Dunn is a slug. When defense is magnified(playoffs) and one bad play can cost you a series.. I would not even be able to watch Dunn at 1st.. Every groundball would produce at least 10 heart attacks across New England. Vote No on Dunn.
  21. Berkman is the guy I would like to see in Fenway. His swing from the left-side is tailor-made to pepper the Monster. Though he is no Youkilis at 1st, he can hold his own and play 2 OF positions in a pinch. I cannot even fathom the carnage a lineup with Berkman (inserted between Papi and Youks) could produce. Berkman is also a gamer and would fit nicely in the Sox clubhouse. And yes Jax, Berkman is a better hitter than Tex has ever been or will be.
  22. Papelbon will be locked up soon enough. Given his age and virtual infallability during the post-season--including last year when he was topping out at 92 vs. the D-Rays and still domintaing, there is no reason he should accept anything less than a Rivera-type deal. Papelbon is what the Red Sox always wished they had. Had it been Papelbon in 1986 and not Schiraldi, I think we can all agree that fabled Mets comeback would have never taken place. Papelbon should be the Red Sox top priority going forward. I wouldn't be surprised to see he and Bay locked up before the season begins. The Sox took care of Youks and Pedroia..as well they should...Now it is time to lock up the most reliable post-season reliever the Red Sox have ever had. When all is said and done, I believe Papelbon will be considered one of, if not the best closer(s) ever.. when post-season performance is factored in.. His stats look like some of my MLB Show closers..almost too good to fathom.
  23. Translation: I am like you said, a twat.. I value this message board community over my entire family. Losing this board would be like Heather Brooke losing her Hoover-like cock suction....I would be left with nothing. ...sorry JimEd, though I cannot stand you...the risk is just too great. Well, since you put it that way...far be it for me to remove such a vital part of your life.. It will actually be funnier watching you twist and twitch as the Yankees fail..yet again.
