6BB for Drohan isn't exactly pitching "well" IMO. It's definitely a step up from his previous two starts. Like I've said before, there's a bigger jump from AA to AAA now due to getting rid of short season ball.
Diamond Sports Group had until the end of today to pay the Padres their scheduled rights fee and has decided not to do so. Tonight will mark the final Padres game that airs on Bally Sports. Moving forward, MLB is expected to take control of broadcasts.
1B don't generally earn a lot of value in the field. Even a fairly decent fielder like Mitch Moreland tended to have negative dWAR. He'd get more value if he played 50% at 3B.
Song is currently on a throwing program and facing live hitters. My guess is that it's not that much different than what the Sox could do. The only difference is that the Phillies are limited in how long they can leave him in the minors this season. I don't think it's hurting him right now. If they try to rush him to MLB and stash him on the bench, that'd be a different story.
I hope he turns it around this season and plays well. I hold no ill will. I just don't know how much longer he can keep up this level of performance. The 2023 Sox needed a Justin Turner, not a JD Martinez.

Some of the moves in the Mayer wake include Christian Koss to Worcester, Theo Denlinger to Worcester, Christopher Troye (37 K, 18.1 IP) to Portland.
Denlinger to WOO sounds about right! Koss probably should have been in AAA anyway.
I think some of us agree that the decision to go over in '22 was foolhardy. Some wanted to sell midseason. I know the smartest and most handsomest of us wanted to sell some of our most expensive players prior the beginning of the season.
