  1. In terms of filling the screen, I can't compete with moon. I'm not even going to attempt to try.
  2. To be fair, you were in the hinterlands for a loooong time.
  3. Ryan Fernandez is out then.
  4. Maybe? I was just wondering if he was just throwing more in zone pitches and sticking closer to the edge of the plate. His curve doesn't have a lot of break, so he's not trying to throw it in the dirt the way Matt Barnes would with his big 12-6.
  5. Looking at the last gamefeed, he's throwing only his 4 seamer and a cutter. Really not getting many k's with that pitch mix. The cutter has been what has revitalized a lot of pitchers (including that dastardly Brasier), but it's not really a new addition for him.
  6. Bernardino is the bottom of the league in terms of chase rate, but top 20% in K%. He throws a sinker and a curve and gets nobody to chase. Isn't that weird?
  7. For the Sox to get 80 wins or less: 20-27 or worse the rest of the way. For the Sox to get 86 wins or more: 26-21 or better the rest of the way. Seems like 81-85 wins is most likely at this point?
  8. Very advanced metrics. Need to dig into the ancient tomes to find how to truly calculate.
  9. You always do this "most team's #3" garbage. He's a 0.4 fWAR guy who had a rough June. BRL 45 xBA 37 EV 27 Hard Hit 24 K% 35 If you get hit hard and can't strike guys out, it's not a recipe for long term success at the back end of a playoff bullpen. You can't say "it's because of his sinker" because it has a -2 RunValue. His xFIP is basically the same as Joe Jacques and Chris Murphy. He's only had two clean outings in his past 10.
  10. What metrics had them playing good baseball this series? Caught by glass light? Check swings incorrectly called?
  11. Just to note: SOX ONLY HAVE 7 PLAYERS OVER 778 OPS. EVERYONE PANIC. Vs LHP, only 6!
  12. Hopefully, the umps will give them some TWO PITCH SWINGS and allow them two balls every time HOU throws a bad pitch.
  13. WOO plays until 9/24. I believe the BOS roster only goes up to 28 players. We'll see what the plans are. He may struggle the way Duran did in his first appearance. At least he will look good in the OF.
  14. He's going to swing like me playing MLB the Show.
  15. He's a high ceiling prospect with still a lot of questions about how his bat will play up due to chase rate. I think they are going to go a little slower with him that fans will like.
  16. At times they have played good baseball. Offense can slump, defense should never slump (and should be CHEAP to obtain). It's hard for them to put everything together when the team was built like Frankenstein's monster.
  17. I know it's dumb, but they just need to add the orange bag that they have for softball. It would get rid of these interference calls that are so maddening and help with player safety.
  18. Winckowski has been decent. I wouldn't put him near Chris Martin though. I think he's very middle relieverish.
  19. I think the original premise was faulty. R - 9th OBP - 8th SLG - 7th OPS - 8th
  20. Their pace should look better after this current 10 game stretch against KC/DET/WSH. The two HOU series later this month are far more important and a better barometer of where this team actually is. Hard to get too excited right now? They should be beating up a team with a .316 win %.
  21. Do you think they played good baseball this series?
  22. Instead of just owning the ballpark, he wants to own all the land around it similar to the new Braves stadium. It's no longer "build a baseball stadium and it'll revitalize downtown," it's "give lots of money so that a billionaire can own a massive development."
  23. The jet stream effect is real though. I just don't think it is an issue for all players, mainly LHB.
  24. Rafaela HOME 913 OPS AWAY 1107 OPS Story also had a higher away OPS.
  25. So the issue is more about the quirkiness of having a certain amount of hitters over an arbitrary OPS line rather than actual production. I see. I guess that's what having a black hole at 2B and SS does for runs scored.
