    I don't think they go with Abreu as a fulltime guy. I think he could be that guy at some point, but they don't seem to be pushing him that way. Maybe he's a bench guy who backs up all three OF positions?

    In recent days and weeks, Mondesí — who has missed the entire season as he continues his recovery from ACL surgery he had last spring — has ramped up to the point where he is facing live pitching, according to a baseball source. Mondesí is also running and taking ground balls; while the team hasn’t mapped out an exact plan for him to get into game action, one source with knowledge of Mondesí's progress said it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him in game action in a couple weeks.

    Honestly, I think they need to give Boone a few more years.

    Sox had the 10 game KC/DET/WSH stretch and most of us said they needed to go at least 7-3 because of how tough the remainder of the season is. Taking 2 out of 3 gets them to 7-3 over that stretch. A sweep would be nice though. The Nats don't have a good roster.

    They might not be able to void it, but if he's put on the restricted list, it doesn't get paid out. Rays will never be close enough to the CBT for it to impact them at all.

    @gfstarr1 Red Sox outfield prospect Wilyer Abreu is the International League’s Player of the Week for August 7-13. In 6 games during that span, he went 13-for-22 with 6 HR, including a grand slam on Saturday and the first-ever 3-homer game by a WooSox player on Sunday.

    He's been in the minors forever and never been called up? I'd like to see him against some real competition... He's also not the first baseball mascot in that HOF named Slugger.

    @JeffPassan The Tampa Bay Rays have placed shortstop Wander Franco on the restricted list, which takes him off the roster and is, in most cases, unpaid, an MLB official tells ESPN. The league has launched an investigation into social media posts about Franco from Sunday.

    The only interesting part is the mother saying that daughter WAS over 18. The situation is questionable enough (missing dox) that the dude should have just found someone clearly over 18. Wander could find almost anyone he wanted to sleep with.

    Castellanos has played 944 innings in RF this year. Cabrera's contract was signed when he was a 1B (no way is he going for 30M on the open market).
