  1. Still have a series against the Jays and two against HOU. Can make up ground then.
  2. Some posters on here probably need to be on the same list as a certain former poster.
  3. Natanael Yuten (#44, OF) was also called up to Salem today. He hit really well in the FCL, but has a very skinny frame with not much athletic build at all (150 lbs is being generous). He hits the ball all over the place and runs well, so it should be interesting to see him against a little better competition (880 OPS FCL).
  4. The issue of Cora over-resting players has been a topic of conversation going back to the DD days on here.
  5. Romero was promoted to High A.
  6. 1. Verdugo RF 2. Turner DH 3. Devers 3B 4. Story SS 5. Casas 1B 6. Duvall CF 7. Duran LF 8. Reyes 2B 9. McGuire C
  7. If he re-injures himself that way, they don't have to worry about opening a 40 man spot.
  8. Well, yeah.
  9. SoxProspects called him a "second division regular," so like a starter for the Pirates or Nats. Honestly, why can't that work in the short term for the Sox until someone better comes along internally? He's patient at the plate, has really good defense and a little pop. I think they can squeeze him onto the roster next year and give him a shot. Use the money saved on the pitching staff.
  10. @redsoxstats Johanfran Garcia will bat cleanup for Salem tonight in his full season debut. The Sox Prospects guys were on him this spring, and after his impressive FCL showing, other publications are catching up. Garcia has a powerful bat with solid approach, and could stick behind the plate.
  11. @SPChrisHatfield Looks like Red Sox recent Korean IFA signing RHP Chansol Lee has reported to Fort Myers, per his Instagram.
  12. Braves Place Ozzie Albies On 10-Day IL With Hamstring Strain
  13. From Baseball America's Hot Sheet: 1. Wilyer Abreu, OF, Red Sox Team: Triple-A Worcester (International) Age: 24 Why He’s Here: .591/.625/1.500 (13-for-22), 7 R, 2 2B, 0 3B, 6 HR, 16 RBIs, 1 BB, 4 SO, 0-for-0 SB The Scoop: Last week Abreu’s power display was similar to a fireworks show, as he built up with each game, culminating in a three-home run game on Sunday. Over the course of the series with Buffalo, Abreu reached base two or more times in all six games while hitting a home run in four out of the six games. Acquired from the Astros alongside Enmanuel Valdez at the 2022 trade deadline, Abreu is hitting .268/.380/.521 with 20 home runs over 80 games with Triple-A Worcester this season. He has above-average on-base skills, solid bat-to-ball skills, average power and the ability to play all three outfield positions. Abreu is able to get the most out of his average raw power with excellent launch angles, as he consistently shows the ability to elevate the ball on his best-struck contact and to his pull side. (GP)
  14. "Game action in a couple of weeks," plus 20 days of rehab games? I'd have him ready for WOO on 9/12 and then he just has his 20 rehab days to finish off the season (includes 12 AAA games and more if they get into the playoffs).
  15. I think a 0.3 fWAR guy is basically a replacement player. I'm not sold that he'd be much better if he played 150 games.
  16. It's not lazy as FanGraphs doesn't provide a split of fWAR on a positional basis for players. You can't run Yu Chang and see how much fWAR he got at each position. I think it's interesting to see that Story has almost eclipsed all the other MIF options in less than a week. Also, Tyler isn't a journalist. He writes really bad haikus and didn't know the difference between vicarious and bicurious on the podcast with Carrabis (most likely due to the public educational system in Brockton).
  17. It wins back the fans for a year.
  18. Are you trying to make excuses for Wander? Gross.
  19. Maybe the Yanks can make a nice little run at the end, get close to the playoffs and they can give Boone an extension.
  20. And there are multiple accusers (all underage) now according to reports in the DR.
  21. Dude was asking for birth certificates before sleeping with girls. Dude is a sicko.
  22. @tylermilliken_ Red Sox leaders in fWAR at SS this season: 1. Pablo Reyes (39 Games) - 0.3 2. Yu Chang (39 Games) - 0.3 3. Trevor Story (5 Games) - 0.2 4. Bobby Dalbec (10 games) - -0.1 5. David Hamilton (13 Games) - -0.2 6: Kiké Hernández (86 Games) - -1.5 Is Story the fWAR leader by the end of the weekend?
