  1. They had trades for Sale and JD that Bloom passed on. Easy enough to complain.
  2. I don’t onow why they promised not to trade him.
  3. Used car salesman vibe from him.
  4. Henry has a huge piece of blame pie to eat. I’m no fan.
  5. Why wait for a stupid offer. You get under the CBT because the plan was to give Nate and Xander QO’s. That gives the Sox extra 2nd round picks rather than extra 4th round picks.
  6. Wrong. If they were going to go over: Why trade Vaz? Why admit they tried trading JD?
  7. Lots of worse lately it seems.
  8. The likable part is in reference to the PR spin backlash. People won’t care. People don’t like Bloom.
  9. Even if he was already healthy, it was probably foolish. However, hoping for an injured player to cover for another injured player is just dumb.
  10. Nah, this firing was very justifiable and Bloom wasn’t all that likable of a person.
  11. “Ooops, I went over the CBT barely” was enough justification.
  12. No, this is a ******** narrative being pushed right now. 4 years is still a long time. Ben and Chaim both failed epically for 6 years. DD did an amazing job, but ran out the string. He had no more tools in his belt once the farm and money ran dry. Sox need someone in between Chaim and DD. It's still a marquee job.
  13. It's less about the record and more about what he did or didn't do during that time.
  14. Multiple people outside the organization expressed issues with their inability with getting deals done with Chaim (Sale deal, Verdugo deal, JD deal). At some point there's just too much smoke to ignore.
  15. You just don't want to believe it.
  16. The reports mostly came from outside the organization or not from ownership.
  17. And he never will.
  18. Red Sox always believe they have a certain value attached to each player. They wouldn't give a long contract to 30 year old starters. Don't want to go over 300M for a player. Whatever. Well, the market ends up passing them by at some point and they end up looking foolish.
  19. They had like 90M to spend and still be under the CBT. That was enough to field a competitive team. He couldn't find a SS. He couldn't build a rotation. They spent 30M on Duvall/Yoshida/Turner and it didn't really work out. Part of it was trying to make up for errors BLOOM made in 2022 (going over the CBT, signing an injured Story).
  20. He seems to be a good one. He's well spoken. Probably seems like a guy in line for a promotion to me...
  21. No, it was to clear salary not to take on different salary. C'mon... Now you're just making up a whole new story. It was for prospects only. This was leaked from the other team. I also may have been off about the timing. It was LAST YEAR after he broke his hand, so the salary forgiveness was 50M!!! Sox would have gotten under the CBT.
  22. How was the turnip truck today?
  23. You could do both if you fix the rotation and don't load up on DH's.
  24. Yes.
