    2nd worst record in the AL, but only 4.5 GB of the WC. It's not "parity," it's a watered down playoffs. They just need to sell. If they get a good offer from somebody, don't hang up the phone.

    They weren't really "forced to" per se, but were getting a lot of crap from other owners and the union from not spending. They intended to reach 100m in '25, but only got to 95m. This year they got to around 120m, I think. They are really just doing it for PR purposes while they are in the process of moving.

    This is what Christopher Smith says on MassLive: Chapman’s contract has a 2027 vesting option if he reaches 40 innings and is healthy at the end of the 2026 season. The vesting option, valued at $13 million, becomes a mutual option if it doesn’t vest. He needs 20 ⅓ more innings for the option to vest and is on pace to pitch 48 ⅓ innings this season.
