  1. Sasaki needs to be paid with INTL monies. He gets to basically pick and choose where to go because the Sox can't overpay him or give him a 10 year contract.
  2. Baseball “journalists.”
  3. Bold prediction #6 for 2025: Posters on TalkSox learn to no longer pick nits. 🤝
  4. He had more money on the table and walked away to get a smaller contract. He came crawling back with his tail between his legs asking if the Sox would give him the previous offer and they said "no, we gave it to Kluber." It was a Three Stooges episode between Bloom, Eovaldi and his agent. Nyuk nyuk nyuk.
  5. Dodgers have the most INTL money left from what I've heard.
  6. Maybe? In Sept he gave up 4 ER to the Rockies and 5 ER to the Cubs. He had a 5.05 FIP/4.93 ERA from August 14 - Sept 30 after coming back from the hip injury. He gave up 6 ER in the NLDS to the Pads in Game 3. He had one good 10 inning stretch since then.
  7. Pass. Crochet hasn't ever had a full season of success and wouldn't commit to pitching in the postseason last year. White Sox are asking for too much. I'd stay in contact, but I wouldn't offer anything more than Mayer straight up.
  8. I don't see how there's clearly no concern to re-sign him due to injury concerns then?
  9. Guerrero was worth 2.5M over a month last season. I don't see how he only has a surplus value of 1.5M over the next 6 years. Seems kind of ridiculous to me. Romero may never make MLB, so I can see that low value. This is just critiquing how BTV treats MiLB players, which I think it does a fairly poor job at.
  10. They let Freeman and Swanson leave. I think the GM likes to extend and then move on if they can't keep them in house for cheap.
  11. It was also stated that he took less to go to the Rangers as he initially turned down a larger Sox offer to stay. Maybe he's just kind of a dumbass?
  12. Maybe he just doesn't like the direction of the Rangers and figures he can get similar $$$ for a team he'd rather play for?
  13. He was "healthy" to start the season, but his stuff just wasn't really there. He suffered a hip injury early on and missed significant time. I don't believe it had anything to do with the TJS. The Dodgers hoped that eventually he'd get his stuff back towards the end of the season. Maybe it just came back at the right time? Maybe it was just good luck and adrenaline?
  14. Thank you.
  15. Re2pect!
  16. It takes 16-18 months to recover from TJS, but this was his second (which is typically the death knell). Dodgers were hoping for a full recovery after 24 months which was last August. Maybe it took 26 months? Maybe he just had a lucky October stretch?
  17. Upside? Sure. Maybe Bailey could knock him on the head and tell him to only throw his 4 best pitches rather than all 7 of them? His 2024 injury was unrelated to the TJS that caused him to be out previously. For me, it would depend on money and length of contract.
  18. Unless he's sent back to the GCL, he's not getting a BB rate of 8%. C'mon man! That's the most bold take of all. It's more likely that Soto is playing home games in BOS.
  19. Pivetta also was seen as a guy who could have a dominant 2024 because of his strong 2023 second half. It just didn't happen. He just has never really put it together.
  20. A comp pick, Romero and Guerrero for one year of Williams? IDK. He had a substantial back injury that kept him out of half of last year that affected how he threw in 2024. He's leaning more on his FB and throwing the air bender much less. He also had a career high FB rate last year. He was still very good, but I worry there could be a reckoning due to that back and the decreased focus of that dominant changeup.
  21. Price was an unrestricted FA after 2022. They just had to hold their nose for 3 years. This ownership is just impatient at times for weird reasons. Should have extended Betts and tried to rebuild around him. Trade the other expiring contracts.
  22. No. Feel free to use the payroll feature on TalkSox and try it out! You don't even have to post it, just save a draft.
