  1. They were 20th in the league last year and dumped Devin Williams. They are not a good pitching team.
  2. The same thing that makes you think his stuff is better than his numbers. He had a fast start to 2025, but everything has dipped back since then. To me, his stuff doesn't look like pre-July 2024. He's not generating k's the way he was. It seems that either the book got out or he got worse. Whatever the reason, he just hasn't been the TOTR guy that a lot of people were projecting. I think he's still a solid pitcher and better than other options they have.
  3. We're guaranteed another 3-4 hours of happiness for now anyway. Today's game is an early start. Going back to Fenway winning this series would be big for the Feelings Department.
  4. Ok, so you agree that he's a midrotation guy, but still wanted to argue about it. Cool. I have no problem with Houck. He had a great run at the start of 2024, but I don't know if we'll see a lengthy stretch like that again from him.
  5. Volpe is 4-20, 4 HR in 5 G. I hope he hits 100 HR this year, but only has 100 H.
  6. At least they brought back the good ketchup, right?
  7. Disagree. That post ASB ERA/FIP was about what it was the year prior as a fulltime starter. I just think that's the performance we should expect out of him as a starter.
  8. To me, it's not about Houck's ST numbers but that he's just looked like second half of 2024 Houck. I think a lot of people were hoping for a 1a/1b with Crochet and Houck, but Houck may just be more of a midrotation guy. Post ASB Houck: 4.23 ERA/4.53 FIP, 11 GS, 6.1 k/9, 1.9 k/bb Pre ASB: 2.54 ERA/2.68 FIP, 19 GS, 8.6 k/9, 4.3 k/bb
  9. I'd at least let things shake out for April and then make a decision. Waiting until mid June is a long time to improve the big club. If you're bringing up Mayer and he becomes a guy who fills in at SS/3B/2B and Anthony and at LF/RF/DH, someone is either injured or underperforming. Hard to move on from Romy as he's the only backup 1B. Hamilton is the bench speed guy, but I think Mayer would be a big upgrade even if he's not getting full playing time. Anthony easily just takes over Rafaela's slot. Bregman probably opts out this offseason and it makes it easier to slide Mayer in at 3B next year. Breslow just never figured out how to deal with Story and Masa, two guys that won't be here long term and are in the way of long term BOS guys (Mayer and Devers).
  10. 50 pitches in 2.1 Innings isn't going to cut it for Gio.
  11. It will feel very different tomorrow morning if the Sox are 2-5 after a Houck blowout and Raffy going 0-4 again. That was the most complete win we've seen from the Sox in a very long time though.
  12. You're the last person to try to talk anyone down of a ledge TBF.
  13. Will enjoy watching Crochet for the next however many years
  14. If that’s the case Fatse, Raffy should have started in AAA
  15. Crochet dealing campbell extension Raffy hitting? Is baseball back?
