  1. As a known Bello hater, Bello likes pitching at Fenway and at night. LAA is 29th in BB rate and 2nd in k rate. I'm calling 6+ tonight. 🫣
  2. They'd be sellers if they were at the O's win total (under .400). Right now they are playing it out to see if they are pretenders or contenders. If they are at 46 - 52 going into the ASB (same win % as today) they should be selling Duran, Chapman, Wilson, Buehler, Bregman, Refsnyder and whatever bullpen pieces other teams will take.
  3. I don't think the Sox are sellers today. I think it's just that time of year where guys are running out of story ideas and they wanted to get their trade deadline stuff out there.
  4. Nope. It's not his fault the starting 1B and 3B were lost to injury and the rotation became a mess.
  5. Win this series and then beating up the NYY this weekend would go a long way to getting the Sox some good vibes.
  6. They were down 6-0 last night and actually put up a fight for once. It's better than nothing.
  7. No matter what happens with Bregman, Mayer is going to play SS next season. He's the best defender they have in the system above A ball. It would be ridiculous to move Abreu to LF and Anthony to RF. Why take a great defender and limit his glove like that? Abreu will be the RFer as long as he's in Boston.
  8. Are you thinking of this game: https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BAL/BAL202204290.shtml It was the first 12 batters and Houck was being used as the planned piggy back guy. If the piggy back is ready, just bring him in. They rode Hill so hard that he was injured at the deadline and couldn't be traded. The oldest pitcher in baseball. 🫠
  9. They don't bunt, because they don't believe it's a play that is worth it anymore. It's a wasted at bat for the most part. Small ball is gauche. We want dingers, launch angles and are less worried about whiffs. There are more homeruns per game, but not more runs per game. Yay?
  10. Pirates are a few loses away from being under .500 as a franchise for the first time in over a century.
  11. I don't want to get too excited about Brooks Brannon. His OPS after 5/22 was only 514. A strong week and a half isn't going to convince me that he's fixed much of anything.
  12. H was handed the straightest fastball ever created by a god.
  13. I said in the offseason that Campbell AND Anthony needed to be on the Opening Day roster. I know that creates a little log jam, but that's up to Cora to figure out the rotation and go with the hot hand. It would have also moved the Sox out of the worries over Super Two/don't bring Anthony up until a certain point because of ROY voting nonsense. 😔
  14. I enjoy that you can have multiple blown saves in a game.
  15. No, it's the opposite if you look at their numbers from what I remember. A lot of weak oppo contact.
  16. Padres are trying to stay in the playoff picture. They aren't dealing Cease unless the team goes south.
  17. What does mastering a level prove that you can do at an especially harder level (MLB)? A pitch that works in A or AA may not necessarily even be playable in MLB.
  18. Most prospects are NOT can't miss. You take a risk every time you make a trade for a grab bag of prospects. 🫠
