  1. Mayer's best position would be SS though! In a perfect world, they could have the following lineup next season: 1B Casas 2B Campbell SS Mayer 3B Bregman LF Anthony CF Duran RF Abreu DH Devers
  2. He's still taking reps at 3b before games so we'll just have to see.
  3. Bregman may opt out this offseason. Story has an opt out too, but it's less likely. 3B Mayer SS Story 2B Campbell LF Anthony DH Devers One of the above players could still get hurt and the cards could get shuffled again (Devers to 3B, Masa to DH). Casas also isn't the healthiest guy in the world and has a contract that ends in a few years. Do they just trade him if they don't extend him? It seems to make sense that the easiest roster maneuver is to eat salary and trade Masa, but this ownership group has held a tight budget at times.
  4. I think he was an option at 2b until they saw that Raffy hadn't even lifted a bat all offseason. My concern is that something is still wrong with Raffy's shoulder.
  5. If Masataka is ok to be sent to AAA, Wilyer should be fine to platoon. The Sox are in the winning business. Abreu really struggles against LHP. It's fine if he's the big spoon in RF with Refsnyder. He'll get a lot of at bats that way.
  6. Ellsbury contract with Yankees $153M (ignoring NPV of course) US population 2007 301.5M Cost of taco in 2007 $0.77 Potential promotional tacos in USD $232M
  7. First starting lineup for WOO: Anthony LF Sogard 3B Mayer SS Thompson RF Grissom 2B Sabol C Toro 1B Hickey DH Eaton CF Bench: Zavala, McDonough, Binelas, Rosier
  8. Story came back. Devers moved off 3B. Campbell plays 2B now.
  9. Nope, because they liked the free taco promotion during the 07 WS. 🌮🔔
  10. Hamilton filling in a 2b makes sense. At SS it only makes sense as a very short term solution. 2B 8 DRS, 3 OAA SS -4 DRS, -3 OAA
  11. That's my parents' dead dog Ellsbury. Well, the player the dog was named after.
  12. If they are missing Newcomb, guess what else they are probably missing across the league. The old grey mare ain't what she used to be.
  13. 4/19M is a reliever contract. Even the two club options at 8 and 10 are very reasonable for a good reliever.
  14. https://www.baseball-reference.com/previews/2025/TEX202503280.shtml https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/gamefeed?gamePk=778550&game_date=2025-03-28&date=2025-03-28&sportId=1
  15. I don't think he specifically said that. Why would he pigeon hole himself like that?
  16. They'll be able to deal Masa well before the end of his contract. I doubt he's in AAA the entirety of 2025.
  17. I think if Story gets hurt in the very near future, Hamilton takes over at SS for a few months. If Story gets hurt in a few months, it's time for Mayer to come up. If Bregman gets injured, Mayer can come up and step in. If Campbell doesn't work out, Hamilton looked good at 2b. Mayer could also play there if he's not fielding elsewhere. 1b is a problem in this org. Catcher is a problem too. They don't really have much depth at those two positions. They are apparently trying out Grissom at 1b, but I think Toro would come up and be the guy to play 1b.
  18. https://www.milb.com/gameday/mets-vs-red-sox/2025/03/28/780334/preview?affiliateId=mlbcom-milb It's Worcester's Opening Day! If you're excited to watch Robert Stock (?) pitch, give it a watch. The weather outlook for Game 2 tomorrow in Worcester does not look fun!
  19. Abreu just loves hitting in TX. He also had to hit two homeruns, one for each of his newborn twins. Duh... at TEX 313 tOPS+ (3 HR, 7RBI) at HOU 200 tOPS+ (1 HR, 6 RBI, 4 XBH)
  20. His stance is more extreme than last season. He's adjusting to being a fulltime DH. Ever since his shoulder injury, his batting has been ROUGH. As with Crawford, rest and rehab hasn't fixed the underlying issue most likely. Devers didn't even pick up a bat all offseason.
