    Whether Roman is a lock to be better than Duran in '25 doesn't matter. It's about getting him up here and getting him the MLB experience NOW so that he's ready when the team is actually ready to compete.

    He's a winning coach WHEN HE HAS THE RIGHT PLAYERS. He's not able to take a .500 team and make them better than what they are like some other coaches. He needs prime Mookie, Xander, JD, etc. Otherwise, I think he's happy to just babysit and get along with the guys and not make too much of a fuss.

    It's not the culture, it's the just the players they have. The Sox won't really contend until they move on from guys like Connor Wong, David Hamilton, Trevor Story, Triston Casas and maybe even Jarren Duran. I know Cora loves him but he's the most inconsistent guy in MLB. He'll put on an MVP like season, but would be likely to drop a can of corn popfly for a series clinching out. Acquire a professional 1B and re-sign Bregman. Then you have Bregman, Devers, Abreu, Rafaela, Anthony, Mayer, Campbell, Narvaez and 1B. I'm much more comfortable with that lineup every day than what we've thrown out there recently. You can then add bench guys like Mikey Romero, Jhostynxon Garcia, Franklin Arias when they are ready rather than using Sogard, Toro and whoever else.

    It's fine. I can't get worked up over multiple threads anymore when people mainly comment in one thread that is 200+ pages.

    He has hard outs, but he's not barrelling the ball anymore. More fly balls going oppo. For Jarren, I'm not sure that's what he needs to do with his speed. It was something that was discussed about David Hamilton when he was in MiLB (why does he have a fly ball swing that ignores his speed). I wonder if he's trying to lift the ball more, but is behind everything with the wide stance as Maddie suggested.

    100% If I had to guess, Henry sides more with Cora too. Henry looks at Breslow as completely disposable, which is not how you should view a CBO that is completely overhauling your organization. 🫠

    I don't understand why a guy like Duran would tweak his swing after a wildly successful season? Crazy.

    If we lose baseball in '27, it's because of the owners. I hope fans know that. "But the players make too much money!" Who gave them those contracts in the first place? The owners! Who inflated the ticket costs? Owners! Who gave us the worst commissioner in sports (a guy who is consistently losing local tv rights across the country, but doesn't adjust his mlb tv blackout policy? Owners!

    He's been good so far. I think needing him for high leverage wasn't what was needed for him though. I thought he'd be good as the 6/7th inning guy, not the 8th inning guy. 🙃

    Pass on that traffic. There's a wildlife sanctuary that we visit that has nonreleasable panthers that's a lot more fun.

    The knocks on Mayer have been: can't stay healthy, platoon issues, struggles with offspeed pitching. Some scouts have him ahead of Roman Anthony! LHP 735 OPS Home 754 OPS (not even benefitting from WOO jet stream yet) Late/Close 1431 OPS 👀

    Weakest defender? Mayer? Out of who? He's a much better defender than Campbell and Anthony. The only reason people see him transitioning off SS is due to his size, but they've said that about a ton of SS's who never move off position.

    Well, it's FL! I've seen most every FL animal in our neighborhood/town except for bears, panthers and crocs. However, our friend saw a smaller croc one town over so they are expanding their range a little bit. My son takes care of two salt water tanks, one fresh water, a back yard pond, two terrariums and has an extensive bone collection from his fort excavations and various travels in the woods. So I can't really get away from it even when the doors are closed. No lizards allowed inside though.

    Sox go to DET and pitch against a team with a top 5 wRC+. Obv, the pitching gets rocked. It just shows that holding a bad offense down (KC) meant very little.

    Shouldn't we just be used to it? I thought it was a little weird that a lot of people assumed the Sox had a legitimate shot as AL East champs just because Cole went down. Hows does that get the Sox an extra 12 wins?

    Their best team on the field would include better pitching in the late innings IMO.

    If an iguana comes in my yard, it's on sight. The pool cage keeps everything but the really small lizards out anyway. When those guys get in, the cats get to them with the quickness. The only thing I worry about is the bufo/cane toad (rhinella marina).
