  1. Wholeheartedly agree and have said as much previously.
  2. You're good. We never stay on track with a topic anyway, unless it's something really annoying like fielding percentage for some unknown reason...
  3. I mean, this is the problem here. A missed call is just a missed call. If the ump was obscured from seeing the pitch and wasn't 100% about it, maybe let the pitcher yell for a second. Escalating the situation, as some umps do, is bush league and those umps don't belong in MLB. I'd rather have Angel Hernandez on a crew than this guy.
  4. Roman is ready, I'm not sure Marcelo is quite there yet. His glove is.
  5. Did you watch the replay or no? https://streamable.com/y2hdmx Ump was completely out of line.
  6. With .500 teams, there are always a bunch of "ifs." This is the 4th year in a row we've had "ifs."
  7. My guess is that the Sox aren't willing to eat enough of the salary to make a trade yet.
  8. Would have been a perfect time to use an ABS challenge. Totally deescalates the situation.
  9. Options 2 and 3 are really bad. You also don't have much of a clue about Mayer's fielding or Campbell's power potential I guess.
  10. The Buehler ejection was awful. I saw an angle where Buehler is on the mound, the ump yells "get back on the mound (as the umps walking to the mound)." Buehler gets to about a foot from the rubber and the ump is still aggro about Buehler "getting back on the mound" and ump is jogging at Buehler and ready to toss him no matter what. Sure, Buehler isn't allowed to say "it was right down the f'n middle," but don't tell me that's not said here and there throughout every game. Total ump show with the ump being the aggressor.
  11. That's what a .500 team is: win a few, lose a few. It's consistent that they won't go on long streaks either good or bad, just lots of BLAH.
  12. Grissom has a 718 OPS in AAA (493 for May). He did a lot of damage in Rochester, a hitter friendly environment, but really hasn't done anything anywhere else.
  13. Johanfran actually got into today's FCL game too. single, RBI sac fly, RBI pop out pop out D'Angelo Ortiz currently has an 800 OPS in FCL.
  14. "Look how many lit cigarettes I can fit in my mouth at once! Want to go pole sitting after this?"
  15. I think he interviewed, but didn't get the gig. Don't remember.
  16. Ruth's five tools: Pitching arm Power Hit for average Large girth allowed him to down excessive amounts of Dewar's and ginger ale Personality was a great match for newsreels
  17. Everyone just needs to chill out. Thanks!
  18. Recent? I haven't heard about him and the Mariners job in about 10 years. https://www.foxsports.com/stories/mlb/report-jason-varitek-turned-down-mariners-managerial-offerhttps://www.foxsports.com/stories/mlb/report-jason-varitek-turned-down-mariners-managerial-offer
  19. If Mays had played in the 20's and 30's, he would have had 200 WAR. Ruth was a great player, but the competition at the time was low. It's very hard to compare eras. IMO: Pre-Ruth (before 1920) Pre-Integration (1920 - 1945) Post-Integration (1946 - 1985) Steroid Era (1987 - 2004) Current Era (2005 - today)
