I'm a no go on two moves: getting RuMart and moving POS Scutaro. Living in LA for the past few years, I got to see plenty of RuMart's upside and downside. The big problem is that he's ok defensively, but has really lost something offensively (overuse, injuries). IMO he's not much of an upgrade over what the Sox have now. Scutaro put up the same numbers as Jeter last year. Do I want to see more Lowrie? Sure, but he'll fill in admirably at all IF positions. Inevitably, someone will get hurt. Lowrie is sure to get some decent playing time and his development won't be hindered.

Was he racist? Probably. Should he be compared to Hitler? No. That was EnFuego's post, not mine. Hitler comparisons are overused and generally in poor taste (see Obama with Hitler stache). Baseball racism was institutionalized, but it took the Sox way too long to move past it. Was it because of Yawkey, Cronin, or the racial disharmony in Boston at the time? We can't say for sure, but we can make an educated guess.

Hey, if people want to look at Tom Yawkey through rose-colored glasses, that's fine by me. I'm sure he was a wonderful person, that doesn't preclude the Sox from having a smidgen of racism in its history. When did they integrate again? Last? Ok, then if it wasn't racism behind these decisions it was clearly a case of horrible management. As with any "oganization" the tone is set from the top and comes straight from ownership. To blame the GMs solely is just silly and doesn't show much critical thinking. Anyway, I don't want to bicker about something none of us could know for sure. I'm just glad the Agon situation is on the up and up.

Supply and demand, no reason to lower the prices. People will still show up. Their revenue will be fine as always. SF fans can walk up on gameday and buy tix. Games are sold out months in advance here. It's not a fair comparison.

I'm sorry, but what's the problem here? Agon is not going to take the first offer the Sox give. I'm sure this will be done by noon tomorrow. There's no reason to be crabby right now.

I reaaly hope Xmas omes early today. Kelly, Rizzo, Iglesias, reddick, Dubront for Agon? Yes please. Kelly is overrated, Rizzo wouldn't be needed, and Iglesias is an interesting prospect but not a sure bet. Would rather dump Navarro, but if the Sox need to overpay for Agon, I'm ok with it.
