    Why give up Bard when you can get Haren on a longer term deal in FA? Haren would be nice, but I don't see this team competing for a WS for a few years. At the point, Haren will be nothing more than a back of the rotation guy.

    If they aren't primed for a WS in 2013 (they aren't), might as well develop the young guys. I don't think they'll go down this road for fear of NESN ratings, but that's what I'd do.

    This makes no sense. They didn't pick up a team option, what's the big deal. In 2008, he was voted 3rd in the MVP. Was it a ridiculous contract then?
