My point is that Paps was not irreplaceable. They just didn't find the right replacement. Paps is basically a 3 out reliever. Anything else and it's too much for him.

iortiz said that people kept babying some overpaid busts. I asked for examples. He couldn't give any and has evaded the question. If you post something, at least attempt to back up what you wrote. It's not my fault that he made a statement that wasn't relevent to Paps leaving. Is this a Paps thread or a trade the bullpen thread? Clearly there are multiple comversations going on. If iortiz didn't want to talk about overpaid busts that people coddle, he shouldn't have brought it up.

Jose Valverde 2011 says hello. Saves are useless. Being up by three and getting three outs with no inherited runners isn't all that amazing.

I think Farrell likes Aceves, so they'll probably try to make it work out.

I said the bullpen would be "ok." I didn't say it would be great. I think Breslow and Morales are also decent in late innings. I'd fill in the other 2 spots with Wilson and Delarosa.

Aceves won't be closing in 2013. The bullpen will be ok whether or not Bard comes back.

They'll non-tender Atchison (12 injury), Hill (always injured), and Sweeney (injured, no pop). They will bring Aceves back.

They aren't getting jack s*** for those bullpen arms.

I liked Jackson last year, like him again this year. If I was going to overpay a pitcher, It'd be Greinke rather than Sanchez. Dempster is a fine NL pitcher. Unless they trade for a front of the rotation guy, I'm not sure the rotation will be good enough to get them to the playoffs.

A little advice, you need to get over whatever happened 5 years ago with you DodgerBlues and TalkSox. Also, a Sox casket is an incredible waste of money. We agreed that I wouldn't question your fanhood if you stopped calling people polyannas. Unfortunately for you, I've counted two such instances since then. Nothing gets my English/French/Irish/Scottish/German up more than someone who can't keep up their end of a deal. Maybe I was just being a Gullibilovitch for thinking you'd control yourself. Anyway, spend less time posting about other people and your devotion to the Sox and maybe people would take you seriously. I have nothing against you Fred, just chill out.
