    I'm also a talksox conspiracy theorist. The destruction of talkpats was an inside job. I believe soxsport was sent here by Nick Cafardo to gauge interest in his articles. In the new TSWO (talksox world order) all avatars will be of Ortiz pointing at me.

    OCab was the only suitable replacement but he wore out his welcome in the clubhouse. Too bad. Rent-a-wreck was horrible here. Lugo was Theo's man crush. Scutaro can't play SS anymore. Alex Gonzalez has always been thought of in high regards, but the FO thought he'd never hit. He's the guy they should have kept in retrospect.

    If the Sox didn't want Paps' contract two years ago because of diminished returns in years 3 and 4, why would the trade prospects for him now and pick up the salary? It makes no sense unless Amaro eats 50% of the remaining salary.

    @PeteAbe: Since 2004, Iglesias is the 9th shortstop the #RedSox have traded (Ciriaco, Aviles, Punto, Scutaro, Lowrie, Lugo, Renteria, Garciaparra). Is anyone really lamenting the loss of any of these guys aside from Lowrie?

    I think we know what he's/she's trying to say, but are disagreeing with his assumptions. I've read his posts and just don't agree with his/her thought process on the matter.

    Is this baseball or are we judging highdiving at the olympics? Massaging stats to fit an argument is just nonsensical to me. Saying "his bad start came before a DL stint" is a far better talking point.

    Then what's the point of this? We're taking about Jake Peavy, not a hypothetical pitcher. He has starts where he gets lit up. You can't pretend they don't happen.

    A 3.7 ERA is NOT utterly dominant 9 out of 10 starts.

    Nope. Discounting poor performances is silly. That start is a part of who he is. Taking it out of his season stats renders his season stats incomplete and unusable. You can't pretend that he didn't stink up the joint a gave his team zero chance of winning that day.

    I kinda hope Iggy gets traded. He'll never get a fair shot here due to his offensive deficiencies.
