    That's not earning your stripes. Wait till the suck for a decade after Brady retires. The worst part of being a Pats fan when I was younger wasn't losing in Superbowl XX, it was sitting through 1-15 and 3-13 seasons and only being able to get excited if a s***** RB like Leonard Russell finally reached 1,000 yards. The red throw back unis take me back to a place when the Pats were inept at best. They should never be worn.

    Yeah, I'm not saying EVERY Steelers fan is inbred, just the majority. Every team, no matter how s*****, has a smattering of great fans. If you're paying for Astros or Marlins tickets this year, no one could question your dedication.

    Um, Peavy DOES have an inner monster. Haven't you seen it try to crawl out of his mouth whenever he walks someone? At this point, none of the Sox starters have recent postseason success. The game 1 starter should be whoever finishes the season the strongest. You could make a case for Peavy, Lackey, Lester or maybe even Doubront. Buchholz will only have 2-3 weeks on the roster. I wouldn't want him pitching game 1 unless he can magically go 110 pitches and keep his ERA under 2 the rest of the way.

How horrible would a "Reagan was the most overrated president ever" post be? People get all pissy just discussing music around here. Though a "Teddy Roosevelt: most bad ass politician ever" post would be the best.

    Peavy has only appeared in 2 games and that was 7-8 years ago? The postseason stats for Lester and Peavy are meaningless at this point.

    Plus no Buchholz, no Hanrahan, no Bailey, no Miller. It says a lot about the depth of the organization, the FA's brought in and the coaching staff.

    @bruceallen: NESN says Jerry Remy will be out at least through Labor Day. Eckersley will fill in this series, Jon Rish for the four games following. Eck is great, but a Rish/Orsillo will mean the games will be on mute.

    I could explain away the West Coast starts, I don't understand this one. Seems like XB isn't here to platoon, just observe. @PeteAbe: Farrell made is clear several times that Bogaerts was called up as a bench player, not to replace Drew. They're not changing SS now.
