@PeteAbe: #redsox have signed OF Andres Torres, 36, to a minor league deal. He is a veteran of 650 ML games over 9 years (2002-05, 2009-13).
Who goes: Grady or Nava?
Rubby isn't my boy. I just thought he was a bettter option than Buch or Doubs at the time. I honestly haven't seen enough of the guys on the farm to stake my reputation on one over the other. I just go by what others are saying. I personally think they should have more young guys play as the current 25 aren't a playoff team.
150 game schedule that includes day/night double headers. Get rid of interleague play. Pitch clock of 20 seconds. Salary floor of $50M per MLB team. Get rid of instant replay. Have the bottom 3 teams from each league ineligible for the following year's playoffs. Make umps go back to the 80's style chest shields or move to a robotic strike zone.
They're losing regardless of Drew's presence in the lineup. He's not the issue. JBJ is not the issue.
The issue is Vic and Napoli have missed time, the bullpen has regressed, Doubront and Buchholz have been horrendous and the corner OFers have been brutal.
One other observation: Cecchini's walk up music is embarrassingly bad.
I'll be going to Thursday's game as well and will try to note how Renaudo looks.
Went to Friday's game. He looked ok. No real issues in CF.
Barnes pitched well until his last inning. Good command.
Cecchini was solid. Vasquez had a decent night too.
